I posted this once before and tried a few suggested. My fave was the mecated Burts Bees but with the crazy weather changes my lips are like sandpaper. Im worried because I am putting balm on but its liek not pnetrating. They almost feel burned-like that hard outer skin you get when you get a burn. Very odd.
Any suggestions? I dont want to have snake lips for my B pics!

Go to the store RIGHT NOW and pick up a Palmer's Cocoa Butter stick... it's a fat stick about $3.50 will last you a long time and makes the lips feel smooth and silky!!!! You can find it in Rite Aid I have one in every bag and jacket and my desk and in my nighttable!!!! I am obsessed with it!!!

If they are really damaged: you may have to heal them 1st with Vitamin E cream.

I pick at my chapped lips too it is soo bad.
than they bleed! yuck!
when in major repair I use Aquaphor first - than move to aveeno essential moisture lip conditioner

Yea they are a mess! I couldnt do the nude lip look tonigth with the darker eye makeup I was trying for the b pics becasye they're so bad. Hmm so Aquaphor is goof for immediate intesnsive therap? they are BAD!

Thanks girls. I am going to try a few of them. I tend to get chappy easy and then I pick. Most lipsticks irritate my skin so I usually only wear lipglosses but this weatehr is making them a mess. I tried the toothbrush last night and OMG!!! PLITS everywhere! ANd in the nigth i must ahve been chewing because Im missing a CHUNK of skin (I know aooo gross lol) in the center0. Its disgusting. So I have the rosebud stuff I bought yesterday. Texture is nice. I bought the erm..Brambleberry Rose? one. They said it was better than the strawberry because it was closer to the original and had a nice scent.
I have Vaseline so I am using that for nightly relief. I have to look at teh Aquaphor and Carmax. Never heard of them but a few of you suggested it.
I did try Blistex-I am allergic to soemthing in it because the brand ALWAYS makes me peel

I have to recommend Bag Balm..I know it's sounds gross since it's original use was for cows, but honestly the stuff works miracles! I use it for EVERYTHING!

Really? For lips too? I have soem from when i used it on my tatoo-HUGE tub and we barely broke the surface. It worked great for the healing.

I 100% agree! Mine chap and crack to the point that they bleed in the winter, but if you brush lightly with a damp toothbrush before bed and then apply vasaline it works miricles over night!

I USUALLY don't get chapped lips, mainly b/c I do the Vaseline thing every night, but for some reason this winter has been BRUTAL on my lips!!!
I bought Cocoa Butter Lip Care Stick from The Body Shop and it works REALLY well!!
I read that someone said to brush your lips at night, my MU artist actually told me to start doing that like 2 weeks b/f the wedding. It's kind of an exfoiliant for your lips, I did it and my lips were SUPER SOFT!!!
I don't know if I would recommend you doing that now though, if they're that chapped.

Ok thanks Dayna sugegsted cocoa butter too. I can't do the toothbrush just yet-tried last night and it tore my lips apart! ugh. LOL hence the awful red lipstick for my pictures.

My favorite is chapstick medicated (in the light blue tube). It tingles a little when you first put it on, and really brings relief to chapped lips.

Im definitely allergic to Chapstick brand too. I wonder what the ingredient is in it that is so harsh?

No clue. it just makes me peel, even if I kiss SH who loves that stuff. Same thign for Blistex. Very frustrating. Burts Bees seems to work well for me normally. I am trying carmex now-HATE the taste but if it works, so be it!

I put a teeny teeny bit of neosporin on overnite when they are really bad. that works great too for the red crusty nose when you have a cold.

Using vaseline overnight really helps. I also recently got this lemon lip cream at bath and body works that has worked really well and smells AMAZING!
