What's with people asking for these expensive gifts for x-mas but then in return they give you a $10 item? I know its wrong to say, cause its the 'thought that counts' But seriously.

That is crap as far as I am concerned. Why should you go out and spend your hard earned money on a gift that someone asked for, knowing you would get it for them , and then give them crap in return
Save the gift they gave you , and regift it to them next year

I wish I could! My cousin has a 9 year old that is my god daughter. shes spoiled ROTTEN! She tells me she wants wii games, and nintendo DS games. and the ones she wants arent the cheap ones. so instead i went out and got her a cute sweater dress... mind you they give me dish towels... yea.... that was last year, but still, this year I can only imagine!

I agree with you. Yes we all know that 'its the thought that counts' but I think the person's financial situation counts more. If I give someone a $50 gift and I know that they can afford to give me one around the same price yet they get me a $5 gift that bothers me. There are those people that I know can not afford a nice gift and those gifts to me are really special bc I know that it is the thought that counts. Some people are genuinely just cheap!
