So when did you guys start to really feel like a wife? For me, I think this past week or two I've really started to feel like a wife, just a little over two months after our wedding. It could be because there was a health scare with DH (he's absolutely fine, but his symptom were a little scary). It could be that I'm beginning to forget which kitchen/bath items were mine and which were his. Maybe it's just the repetition of doing things as a couple and planning for our future, I don't know.
Or it could just be time. The first month or so that we were married, it all seemed foreign, but now the concept of being a wife seems to have clicked for me.

Re: When Did You Really Feel Like a Wife?
Having been married the same day as you, I STILL don't feel like anything is different. Other than calling him my husband, which I LOVE to do. I think its because we lived together before so nothing is really different. Even having a different last name feels normal- its so weird.

Yeah, that could definitely be it. I moved into DHs place a couple months before the wedding, so maybe it's more a matter of really feeling at home now.

I have dated my husband for eight years before being married and it has always seemed as if i was his husband. Itmight have to do withtime. But Ialso thinkthe sharing of things has alot to do with it. Instead of it being yours it's now 'OURS'

We too dated for eight years before getting married, nothing seems that different, but when you say the terms husband and wife it does feel more special! We didn't live together before we got married soo that has helped with the change so to speak in a way...

not until we moved south. We are constantly helping and supporting each other with every aspect of adjusting. It's truly OUR life we are building down here, instead of just merging lives up north where we grew up. Having to go to a new location and start over with everything as a team has really sealed it for me. I love being a wife! (and I love saying 'my husband will be meeting me here...' or whatever.)

I don't think I actually FEEL like a wife even now. I don't know if I'll ever feel that way. It's not a bad thing, I just don't feel like that. Or maybe I DO feel that way and just don't know it

I think it was like 3 or 4 months into our marriage, that it felt like we were husband and wife.

Re: When Did You Really Feel Like a Wife?
We got married the day after you :0)!!! I think I started feeling like a wife when we got back from the honeymoon and were officially moved into our house. We lived together before the wedding, but owning a house together and merging all of our money made it seem real.

I'm glad to hear these answers. i feel like a wife....sometimes. and it doesn't feel that different from before wedding.
we don't fight as much, which is a VERY good thing. but other than that there is no real big difference for me.

Re: When Did You Really Feel Like a Wife?
It didn't take long for me to feel like a wife. I didn't live with DH before we got married so in all aspects early into the marriage we felt like husband and wife.

Re: When Did You Really Feel Like a Wife?
We got married in November, and I think it was during the holidays for me. I cooked my first Turkey for him for Thanksgiving and then we had our first Christmas tree together, and did Christmas shopping together, instead of seperately.

Re: When Did You Really Feel Like a Wife?
This is one of the weirdest things for me! I don't feel like a wife at all....maybe in a couple months, but right now it's not even 2 weeks and I keep calling DH my FIANCE! lolol....
And I am having a hard time getting used to changing my last name...it doesn't feel like 'me' when I write it....not in a baad way, but just different.....

I know what you mean. There was a big meeting at work that I had to do a presentation at and when I was introduced as Cheryl..., it seemed very official!

Re: When Did You Really Feel Like a Wife?
My husband needed an operation 9 days after our wedding. When his doctor came into the family waiting room and spoke only to me (not to his parents, not to my parents who were also all sitting, waiting)---well, that's when I felt like a wife.
