When did you send out your thank you's???

How long after the wedding? I got married Oct. 1st and plan on getting mine out this week....is that bad?

we sent them out about 6 weeks after our wedding. And neen - don't worry - DH received a TY from a wedding he attended THREE YEARS after the couple was married. So everyone here is great.

we sent them out about 6 weeks after our wedding. And neen - don't worry - DH received a TY from a wedding he attended THREE YEARS after the couple was married. So everyone here is great.

I can imagine some of the guests opening the card thinking...who's this?

We just ordered the TY yesterday. Our fault not Photographer.
DH couldnt look at pics becuase my MIL passed away 6 weeks after wedding and its been hard for him.

I sent them out about 4 weeks ago and I got married in april, it just took ME forever to write them all. ah who cares how long it is as long as they go out.

I have an etiquette book that says its 6 months from your wedding not a year but really who cares.

I just recieved my thank yous this week. I'm hoping to have them out this week. I should have made an appointment with my photographer right after my wedding, but i got side tracked with work and when i did finally call it took me 2 months to get a sat appointment (I live in NJ now so I can't get there in the afternoon).
I feel so much better that many of you have said we have up to a year.

ok.. i don't mean to sound hypocritical, since i wasn't 'speedy' at all with the TY process, but... THREE YEARS?! why even bother at that point?

we got ours out really fast... about 3 or 4 weeks after the wedding. we got married in june, and i work at a school, so i had all summer off after the wedding- so i just sat down one day and watched my daytime TLC shows and banged them all out
we also didn't order TY pics/cards from teh photographer... we just took a good shot my mom got, went to target and made about a million copies of it and put one in each TY card.... that helped, too b/c i didn't have to wait for the photographer to get them back to me
i wouldn't worry too too much about it... but i would try to get them out within a couple months of the wedding....

I got married May 22, 05 and I sent them out the last week in August.

I just ordered mine-

so it took me a month to order
it takes them 1 month to come in

and I'll give myself 2 weekends to do them- so that's about 2 1/2 - 3 months

We sent two sets actually. The 1st which was from our invite set (ordered all the stationery same time) we wrote them out on our HM and mailed when we got back stateside, so I would say 2 weeks after the wedding. The 2nd TY we sent when our TY pics came. Since they arrived a month after our wedding, we sent them out Christmas with the traditional free TY envelope you get from the photographer.
