How long after the wedding? I got married Oct. 1st and plan on getting mine out this week....is that bad?

I've been working on mine through the weekend and a few today during lunch. Ugh... It's been tough with the Holidays...I'm hoping everyone understands.

Etiquitte says you have up to a year to send TY's. We just got the cards over the weekend but have not even picked our TY picture yet. I will start writing out the cards this weekend to get a jump start on them, but we also had almost 300 ppl at our wedding and alot more people who didn't attend who are STILL sending us gifts almost 2 months later.
I wouldn't worry ladies :)

We didn't get ours from our photographer until mid November and sent them Thanksgiving weekend...longer than most on these boards but we actually got calls from people saying it was quick!!!

THIS MORNING
I just put them in the post box on my way to the train and my clock says we've been married 81 days.
Kudos to DH for folding them, stuffing and sealing the envelopes
ETA: I don't think it's bad that you haven't sent them yet. I had our cards about 3 weeks before I got the energy to write them. People will understand, what with the holidays and everything

I just finished sending mine out last week, we had a very large # of cards to send out so it took me 3 weeks to get them done!! But Ive also read you have upto one year, so you're fine.

I got most of mine out within 3 months after the wedding, some got pushed to within 4 months after.

Wedding was 10/28 - I ordered from Shutterfly after returned home from the honeymoon but since I wasn't home when the box was delivered, they rerouted them back to Shutterfly. Anyway, I had to reorder half of the thank-yous. I sent them out last week.

Wedding was 5/27/05...TY cards went out the week after Thanksgiving. Bad, I know, I felt terrible...but people were really happy to get their cards.

I sent mine out just before the 6 mth mark. Don't stress about it. As long as they go out within the year you're fine. Anyone who would make a comment is a nerd! JMHO

ummm. i'm waiting on the pics from my photographer (just picked them last week). I had to wait until I went back to NY (which wasn't until Christmas) to meet with the photographer since I live out of town. Will probably get the thank you out by March. Thanks ladies, I feel much better knowing I have a year.

I've seen a bunch of people post this, but it's not actually true. (unless there's an etiquette source out there that I haven't seen)
Guests have 1 year to give a gift.
However, the longest time frame for sending a thank you for a gift received at a wedding that I've seen in any etiquette book is 3 months.
ets: I mailed mine at 3 months and 2 weeks, but I included a photo and wrote out full 3x5 cards (front and back) to everyone.
