I'm going on 4 months and I still haven't even ordered them. I am such a slacker. My goal is to order them on Tuesday (I made an appointment) and send them out by the end of the month.

My wedding was in October and I got them out in mid-January which I thought was late...I like things being prompt and out of my hands but the photog was a slacker on this part, not me!

My wedding was January 31st. I started writing them last night that way I can get them out as soon as the pictures come in (which I haven seen yet).. yes, i'm a little crazy, i know.
I'm like SHamma on this one...I mailed them within a month...but I had a month off after the wedding and we waited to go on our honeymoon for one month

I've only sent out almost half of them, and it's our 6 month mark now! I've been so busy! They're very time consuming, you know!

Mine went out almost 6 months after I got married -- I got married in Oct and they went out end of March/beginning of April. But I didn't go pick it out until Jan, so I really only 'sat' on them for 2 months!! Plus, I didn't order enough pictures and then I ran out of the thank you cards because they didn't give me enough, so I had to wait another 3-4 weeks for that, hence the lateness of sending them out. And I did them all in one night and my poor carpal tunnel was at an all-time high when I was done!!
Ok, I babbled enough. See Anna, you're not the only one who goes off on tangents!

good tangent Debbie, LOL. if its a tangent, it has to be worth the extra mile of walking, HAH (I wonder if my tangents just make people feel like turning the wheel back toward the parkway and off the service road !
To respond to this thread, I might get snowballs thrown at me if I say how long I 'waited'. (heck you can do a search and see that it was about .... ten months ).
But everyone was excited to see our faces. and YES we called many of those that attended within a few weeks of the wedding to thank them and chit chat about 'having to get together'...
So should I bother with going off on a tangent trying to 'Excuse' myself or validate the disgustingly LONG procrastination of sending out thank you's ????
OK, I see a game of 'dodge ball' coming on...

I just sent them off last week and we got married at the end of oct. I should have done it sooner, but like others, I'm a slacker and never got around to it.

Can i just add my own tangent?
I just got a thank you card from someone who wrote a very generic thank you in the card. It was a little on the late side, but that didnt bother me at all - but it did bother me that this couple couldnt take a few minutes to write something geniune in the card. I know first hand its hard to think of something but I made sure I wrote something specific to the two of them in our thank you to them. I was very surprised by this because this couple is more than personable and witty - so it makes me think that they gave everyone these very generic notes because they were feeling pressed to get them out.
So i guess my point is - personally, i would rather something geniune and specific written to me and it be very late, then it be on time but just the same old canned phrases.
I had time off after the wedding so I was able to write personalized thank yous...
the worst was that my SISTER sent us a generic thank you...but thats another story in itself...

Stef - I completely agree with you. I was a complete slacker (wouldn't even post how late b/c I'm embarrased) but I put a lot of time and sincerity into what I wrote.
Should I have gotten them out a lot sonner, absolutley. But as you said, I'd rather have taken the time than have simply said 'Thank you for your generous gift ... blah blah, blah.'

as soon as I got themfromthe photographer around november, I think, Aug wedding ,had written out a few each day and the envelopes where done, just waited on the pics and stuck them in

Another little tangent....for those people who we have photos of dancing or a good posed shot, we threw those into the thank you card too. Someone did that for us a few wedding ago and I thought that was really nice so I wanted to return the favor as best I could. I never really understood why anyone would want a photo of us ...but im sure they would appreciate a nice photo of themselves enjoying the party.
Case in point - we sent this out. Who wouldnt want this photo?

WOW, I dont feel so bad. MY sister just got a Thank you from a friend of hers, who's FIRST anniversary is this weekend !!!
How weird is this - her name just popped up - im on my sisters pc and this friend of hers just signed in on MSN Messenger...Freaky, LOLLLLL.
