When did you sit down & pick pics for album

How long did you all wait before you picked the right pictures for your Bride & groom album? I still havn't done it. I did however pick 2 different thank you pictures.
My wedding was in November and I LOVE ALL my pictures. I have at least 2500 proofs. I am so completely overwhelmed. How do you narrow it down to 50 pictures???
My parents both did their albums 1,2,3. I want to include everything in my album .
I put my favorite pictures in a box, then let my husband choose from the ones I selected. We still have over 200 pictures to narrow down.

This is why I'm doing my own album. I'm having 100-120 pics in there I think. However, we're JUST NOW getting to it, and only because I decided that enough was enough. You try to find both the most beautiful pics and the pics that best illustrate the day. So if you have two beautiful pics, but one conveys info that another pic conveys, then maybe just pick one. For us it was ring exchanging. We had two - him to me and me to him - but we didn't think we needed both pics, so we just went with one. My photographers also took 10 shots of a lot of events from two different angles, so we have a lot of duplicates.

We chose our TY picture right away so we could order them and get them out. We then chose our pictures by Dec and made an appointment to sit with the album designer the end of Dec, we should have our album by April.

Married in May
Got pictures back in June/July
Picked out TY (first) and then the rest of pictures
September submitted order for TYs and album

We had about 600 proofs that we had to narrow down to 30!

We didn't sit down and do this until 4 months after the wedding! That's why we STILL DON'T have our album!

I can't wait to see the finished product though (we went for our viewing a few weeks ago)

We did this just this past week- it took DH and I about 2 hours to get through everything- in the end, we had 94 pics! We aren't doing a traditional album, so we didn't need to weddle it down any.

So it's safe to say I'm a little behind. Looks like the majority picked the pic out within 2-3 months.
I'm not doing a traditional book either but after 50 pictures I think its $30.00 for each additional. Right now, I'm paid in full, I'm sure I'm going to have to add more.

I'm curious how many of you paid extra to have more pics in your album.
