Last physical - can't remember when. Most likely in 1998. I know, I know...

Gyn appt/pap test etc - July. I am seeing my ob/gyn like every month now!

Dental visit - since I've had my teeth cleaned and a dental implant in July, I see my dentist now more than anyone else!

Last breast exam / or for the older ladies mamogram - last exam was in July. Have never had a mammogram.

Eye exam - I go once a year in September because I wear contacts/glasses. I'm going soon I guess!!

Last Physical - Probably in college. I was just at the doctor in June thugh, and he ran some blood tests. Seems I have high cholesterol, so I had to go on a low fat & exercise diet. I have to go back in a couple of weeks to take more blood tests and see if it went down. I know he'll want to put me on pills, but I think I'm going to refuse them.

GYN - I go every 6 months since I'm on BC. I have to make an appointment actually.

Eyes - every two years. Thankfully my prescription hasn't changed in a long time.

Dentist - Last August. I have to make an appointment, but I have no free Saturdays!

Breast Exam - since I go to the GYN every 6 months, I'm kind of lazy. I've also had about 6 mammograms done in the last 2.5 years because of an abnormal lump my doctor found. They took a biopsy, and it turns out that it's just me. That's how my body is made up apparently - I'm lumpy!

Since I got pregnant I am at the midwife every month. But normally I go once a year.

I go to the regular MD once a year or so. It depends on if I get my usual sinus infection or not- then I am there a bit more often.

I got DH to go for his annual physical because we HAD to get shot for Africa. He had NO choice but since we are now married and have a baby on the way he knows how important it is to stay on top of his health. I had him get his cholestrol checked, heart etc...it is very simple and painless to do. Now, if he had to have one of those 'more invasive' tests I don't know how easy it would be to get him to go. That might take some work.

Dental: I am a dentist freak. I don't mind the dentist at all so I go every 6 months like clockwork. Also, when you are pregnant it is very important to have a cleaning. A problem with your teeth can cause pre-term labor. Scott also goes every 6 months, but I make his appts for him.

Eyes- we just went last weekend. He has contacts so he is forced to go once a year for the Rx renewal. I go once every 2 years and that has been okay for me since I just need my glasses for reading and driving at night.

Shamma ... Rob doesn't like to go to the doctor either. I actually am 'nagging' him to make an appointment for a physical. I just tell him that I am really concerned and want to make sure that we grow old together. I think I'm just going to make an appointment for him pretty soon and just tell him he has to go!!!
I made his eye appointment for him, because he needs to change his prescription. He is very good about his teeth ... gets them cleaned twice a year and they do a check-up then.

As for me ... I'm at the GYN - twice a year. The doctor - atleast once a year, with my last physical being last week. The eye doctor - every year, but depending on insurance, it used to be twice a year. Breast exams - I should do this more often, since my Mom had breast cancer, but my gyn does it when I see him, so .... I'm quite lazy with that.

Dentist- every 6 mos. Last visit: June 2003

OB/GYN: every 6 mos due to BC, Last visit: April 2003

Regular MD: Do not go regularly - am rarely sick and was told by my MD that anyone under 35 doesnt need to go every yr. Every 3-5 yrs should suffice unless they have a medical condition. Last visit: sometime in 1998

Dermatologist: used to go regularly. Last visit: sometime in 2000

Husband visits his dentist regularly. Does not go to the regular MD ever - he is also healthy but should probably get a physical.

My last physical was in February or March.

My last dental exam was in May (I need to make an appointment!)

Last Pap and breast exam, also in February or March.

Last eye exam was June of 2002, I'm due for my annual checkup.

I take very good care of myself and ALWAYS get my physicals and GYN exams. I'm not as good about the dentist, and can never seem to get there every six months, but I try!

Funny that you should be asking this today. We were having this conversation/ arguement just last night. I am also VERY concerned about the fact that he does not go to the dr. His dad has had some MAJOR health issues, especially recently & his mom is not in good health at all. High BP, overweight, etc. I have been nagging him to go, to no avail. I keep saying that I'm concerned now that the baby is coming ... etc., but I'm getting nowhere.

I may just resort to calling and making an appt for him. It'll probably be a long time b/f he actually calls himself & then only if I'm standing there with the phone forcing him to! Hopefully I can get this done soon!

Good luck with Roger. This is too impt to let go.

Gyno..a couple of weeks ago. I am also on BC, but I only have to go once a year...Doc gives script for a year. I didn't realize it is normal to go twice a year

Dentist: I have to admit I have been bad. I used to go every 6 months and now it has been a year and a half.

Eyes: Never...perfect vision (for now at least)

Physical - 4 yrs ago... I've got to make an appt asap
Breast exam - July '03. Had sonogram and biopsy - found more fibroadenomas. I can't stress enough how important it is to do self breast exams!!
Eye exam - 2 yrs ago if not more. Need to get those rechecked as well.
Dentist - Yesterday and before that 3 months ago

I am a huge believer in going to the appropriate doctors and keeping up with the health issues. Sometimes the best medicine can be preventative.

Last physical - last last year
Last GYN - last month (I go once a year - I'm on BC but my Dr gives me a yearly prescription too)
Dentist - at least a couple of years - I was going every 6 months unitl my boss changed my insurance so I didn't have dental anymore. She kept saying she was going to look into it but hasn't. I did go in the week of my wedding cause I thought i had a toothache - he xrayed just that tooth and said there was nothing there - so that was a relief
Eye exam - probably about 2 years -I really need to go. I am always worried about my eyes. Esp. since I got laser surgery, I'm just so afraid for something bad to happen. (not that there has been any problems, I'm just a worrier)
I've had a lot of trouble getting DH to go. He FINALLY made an appt for a physical - I don't think he's been to a dr. in about 10 years!!! I tell him he needs to get his eyes checked to make sure they are healthy, but he has perfect vision so says it's not necessary. He was terrible about the dentist too, but finally went a couple of years ago when he got a really bad toothache. He also has NEVER had had a cavity - how annoying!!

Liz, *shamma hangs head in shame* I do agree. I keep up on my teeth and my gyn tho, does that count If nothing pains me I don't think I need to go, I guess that is my hubby's attitude, but I am doing better and I hope he follows me. The funny thing is, if I cry for a headache or my knees, he is the first to tell me to call the dr, can you believe this??? the man who cannot remember the last time he has been tot he dr
