Where did you put the wedding $ you rec'd?

DH and I put the money we received in our credit union savings account. We want to use this money one day for a house. Is there a better place we could put this money so it earns more interest in the meantime? Thanks.

Right now, ours is in the closet!
We are going to put it in our regular savings on Saturday, but I would like to open an ING account, the interest rate is better & there isn't a minimum you have to keep it there for, like a CD.

We put ours in a money market account. I don't know anything about it, only that it features a better interest rate than our standard savings account.

You should look into ING Orange account - the interest rate is higher then any of the credit unions or banks

if you have over a certain balance, you can put it in an interest bearing account (like ING).

ING seems to be the thing.

I actually just made an appointment with a financial advisor my dad uses to sit down with him and come up with a game plan.

So did you just open the account for ING online? I don't see that you can go to them in person.

Ours is in the same type of place. Credit unions do offer some benefits. If we keep $5000 in the accout we receive certain benefits when we get our mortgage. (I don't remember the specifics.)

Ours is in ING. Basically, you go online and fill out the form to register, they transfer your $$ electronically.
