Where should we go - help!

We are really in need of a long weekend away. DH's dad's passing has really, needless to say, made a dark and icy winter that much more dark and very difficult.

I would like to suprise him with a very very very low key long weekend...someplace with lots of sunshiney vitamin D.

We can fly but keep in mind it will be for a long weekend so I don't wanna use up too much time for travel. I also don't have much / any spare cash so I would like to be as budget friendly as possible. And *GASP* we don't cruise...DH gets violently seasick. Any thoughts? Has anyone been to bermuda?

what about florida? fly with spirit for pennies

ya - i've heard bermuda is $$$ just asked bc its so close. ya know what, for some reason I always overlook fla and I'm not sure why. gonna start some research now - grazie!

Bermuda is great but expensive. Florida, or how bout Puerto Rico!!!

Definitely Florida. Cali i heard is nice to...but Ive never been. I HAVE been to Fl and no matter where you go its a good price for a long weekend. Check out Kayak.com for pricing. Theres Orlando can do a theme park one day - i dont think the prices are bad for a day, OR my favorite Ft Lauderdale is beautiful for rest, relaxation, restaurants and bars. Theres also the keys and south beach but I have never been.

Bermuda is LOVELY but it is pricey. and it is NOT a real winter destination. You can go to the caribbean year round but I am pretty sure you need to wait out the worst of the snow to go there.

How about the bahamas? or did you two already go there? its only a bit further than florida and its easy to find a good deal at a resort for a SHORT trip....... thats so random that just came to me. i want to go to the bahamas!

Even though this place is in Jersey, you can still still lay by the indoor and get a tan. Check it out!

The suites are amazing, fireplaces even in the bathroom. If you call and explain your situation, they will most likely upgrade you for free. The placeis amazing!

We're headed there in June (yes, when its blisteringly hot) because I have a meeting for work there and get a pimped out suite so he's coming to crash and we'll extend the trip!

I work for a Japanese company and the executives looooooooove vegas!
