Where to go close to home for a December anniversary

Dh and I don't have time off in December for our one year anniversary. So, we were thinking of taking an extended weekend some where close to NY. We were thinking of Conn. or Boston, but it will probably be too cold up there during that time. Anyone have any suggestions of other places that are close to NY and that we will be able to go for an extended weekend?

We went to Mystic, for our 1 year and then part 2 of our 1 year is in a few weeks on a Carribbean cruise. You can also try Atlantic city or maybe Bermuda??? HTH

We were thinking of going back to Mystic. We loved it there. You went in March though. Was it still cold and bad weather?

Thank you everyone! These are all great ideas. I was considering all of them. Thanks. I think I might go with Mystic, or Rhode Island (which we love) or Montauk.

Hi... I got married the same weekend as you. When we got married we were unable to go on a HM right away since Im a teacher...so we went to Newport, RI for the weekend. It was such a great trip. The town and all the mansions are decorated for Christmas. We stayed in a bed and breakfast called the Bayberry Inn...it was so nice. We are hoping to go back up there again for our 1 year anniversary.

Well, if you want to avoid the cold, you could go to Washington. It won't be bikini weather, but it should be warmer. I love Lambertville, NJ/New Hope, PA also, though it would be just as cold as here.

Thanks, that is a good idea. Ireally did want to avoid the cold. It doesn't have to be beach weather. I just wanted it to be alittle bit warmer than here.

We were thinking of going there again. We have been to Newport also. It is beautiful. Especially that time of year! I love the Christmas decorations, hence the reasons, why we got married in December. How was the weather up there that weekend? We had great weather here on the 5th of December, it was actually 52 degrees that day! What hotel did you stay in? I forget where we stayed.

The weather was not too bad when we went. We stayed at The Whaler's Inn in Mystic. We got a great deal thru AAA. It was so nice! HTH

The weather was so beautiful the weekend we got married...and it was like 50 degrees in RI. WE stayed in the Bayberry Inn. They have a website bayberryinnofnewport.com. I'll post a few pictures

Thank you everyone for your replies! I am thinking maybe Mystic or Rhode Island. Which ever one is less expensive is what it comes down to. Thanks again!

Was the place nice inside? There was only a picture of the outside on the website. I called and they gave me a really great rate. I think we are going to go there. Thanks.
