This would be for my living room,. My walls are like a darker beige...kinds hard to describe. I dont have furniture yet (using DH's old furniture) but obviously im into the neutrals so Ill find something to match.
I'm not too into the persian rug type patterns for myself, but I'd go with the second of these two.

Re: Which rug do you like better?
Thank you for your input...Im so lost. I have been looking for rugs for months...Im not even really that crazy about either one. I just want something with a darker feel that isnt too modern and not oriental....but thanks again

Re: Which rug do you like better?
#1... If your walls are beige, you're def going to need something in the rug to contrast it like the black in the first one... #2 would blend too much IMO
ETA: But #1 reminded me right away of like a resort dining room/hallway... If you dont like either, dont settle!!!!! Have you tried the rug places on rt 110 or 112?

Re: Which rug do you like better?
I'd say go with the second rug. Personally I like the first as a pattern better, but it would probably be too thick and harsh against most furniture.
Thank you for the ideas! Our problem is that our family room is pretty large (we livein Ohio) and so we need the area rug to be about 12x15 and It doesnt look like we would be able to find something we like for under $2000, which we cant afford. So we went around to different carpet stores and found that we could get a really good quality carpet made into a rug for under $1000. Im now thinking a chocolate brown shag!
