Who answers the phone in your house?

Original post by roan126

I have noticed that whenever its my family or friends who call, DH will not answer the phone if I'm there. Likewise, if its his friends or family, I will let him get it. We had a conversation about this once; I think I refused to answer the phone for some reason when his mom called one time, and he got a little annoyed. Just wondering if anyone else could relate.

I answer the phone if it's my family and he picks up if it's his family.

Same for us usually.
His family hardly ever calls but mine calls all the time.

If I know it is for him, Ill usually let him get it and vice versa. but if it rings and neither of us know the number, we let it go toVM. if Im like in the shower or cooking etc and its one of my family members or friends, he will answer it and vice versa. We dont mind eachothers familys at all.

Either one of us...depending on who is calling.
Sometimes I dont want to talk to the person who is calling-my family, his family, etc. and vice versa.

honestly we don't ever really answer our home phone at all.

Everyone calls our cell phone who wants to reach us - it is rare when the home line rings and if it does it is b/c we told them to call the line b/c the cell phone breaks up at times.

I think if it were not for the DSL line I would get rid of the home phone.

it goes like this

'you get it'

'no you get it'

'no you .......'

answering machine picks up.

followed by...me feeling guilty bc it was mom or mommy in law.

We both answer. Although I always check the caller ID first and if its for him yell., 'hey phones for you' say hi to the person and then pass it to him.
