This is my second week of cooking and i have no idea what to make. By the time i get home i dont want to do anything but i must!!!! what do you girls do to manage your time with work and cooking?

i can't wait until DH gets the bbq up and running so that I can grill a lot of things- it will be easier. I think im going to make chicken franchese tonight that i copied from the newlywed cookbook thread...wish me luck!!

we usually have chicken, brown rice, and veggies... sometiems just brown rice and beans... easy stuff usually on nights i work
but sometimes we eat peanut butter and jelly and then sometimes we get a craving for chilis chips and salsa
lol it varys from week to week i like to make something fancy every now and then to impress dh, but that usually requires shopping before cooking i dont plan it ahead and we dont have half the stuff i need. lol
tonight we are having steak salad!

I cook almost every night...grilled chicken, skirt steak, pasta, chili, tilapia or flounder...easy main dishes and then usually just a salad or a vegetable as a side.

DH and I share the cooking. We usually cook 4-5 nights a week. Lately we have been BBQing a lot chicken, steak, veggies, veal, sausage- you get the point. We have fish at least once a week. I try to plan out meals for the week with DH on Sunday but it does not always work out. allrecipes.com and the food network have tons of quick recipes. Trader Joe's and Fairway sell some pretty healthy prepared foods.

DH works nights so Im pretty home alone every night for dinner. So I really dont cook much at all (not to mention I really have no skills in the kitchen!) But when he's off he always cooks us dinner...Mostly steaks and chicken marinated. Cant wait to finally get a house so we can do some grilling on the BBQ

I cook every night, but I keep it simple...rice and grilled chicken with a salad, steaks in the broiler with baked potatoes and salad, spinach quiche with porkchops...a lot of this doesn't require me to stand in the kichen long.
Frozen spinach, corn, and broccoli spears are a saving grace...so is the rice cooker.
Baby carrots can be thrown in the microwave covered for 4 min and come out steamed

I have some easy quick recipes that I always have the stuff for in my house. I keep chicken frozen for quick meals since I never know what night DH will make it home from CT each week.
Campbell's has a lot of quick, easy recipes on their website.
Also I will cut open chicken breasts and melt cheese in them. Sometimes I onion crust them and sometimes I bread crumb them and sometimes I leave them plain. I also started making the Thyme, Pepper Braised Chicken Mandy put in the Newlywed cookbook. Its pretty easy and really good and made with things I usually have in the house now that I have Mrs. Dash in the fridge.
I will also make things ahead like Chicken Marsala or meatloafs when I am not busy and freeze it. I love my vacuum sealer.

Oh and when I am really in a bind I hit Storks in East Islip. I will get stuffed pork chops or chicken cordon blue or stuffed peppers or any of the other yummy things they have there, and all I have to do is cook it.
But its expensive so I try not to do it to often.

I cook everynight! what kind of foods do you like, i go to www.allrecipes.com to get all my ideas, or for any recipes, i Loveee that website!! i am exhausted when i come home, dont feel like cooking, but how much am i gona eat out?? some days i get food from my mom!
had to edit! because i cooke 5 nights, saturday and sunday we eat out, take out, or go to to either inlaws to eat (my house or his)!

We don't cook every night but most nights. I'm still getting used to it. I try to make enough to have left overs for at least 1 more time.

I cook 2-3 times a week, sometimes I cook 2 meals in 1 day so its easrier for the week. My mom is still here so she cooks the other nights unless we get take out or have left over night. DH will soon learn that he will have to do atleast one night..... hey hotdogs and burgers are easy
