We are still in an apartment but we are browsing for a house/condo. The apartment just doesnt feel like home anymore. I feel like we are giving away free money..that never bothered me before we got married. So our ultimatum is by end of the year.

Where are you guys looking? There are actually some affordable houses in my neighborhood and there are a lot of young families. I bought on the border of Huntington Station and Huntington.

We were in an apartment the first 5 months we were married, and it felt so weird. I didnt feel like we were in our home until we were in our condo. Even then it took some time to make it feel like home. But we are so happy now. So, I hope you find what you are looking for.

We own our condo. But, it used to be an apartment before it went public.
We both feel like we live in a hotel suite...and can't wait to buy a house!

We live in an APT. I can't wait to get out. But we have no money to get out. Thats why we might goto Florida.

we live in an apt right now, but we have a ton of space so I feel like it's a mini house... we have been looking for a house but are not in a huge rush b/c since we are renting from DH's family we are getting an incredible deal... we are now just trying to $ave...

We have alot of space too. Our living room is HUGe and so is the kitchen and the bedrooms are a good size too but tis just this feeling of not being ours. I think even if we moved into a penthouse I'd still feel this way

We are speaking to different realtors, So far DH likes Mineola, Lynbrook and Baldwin..some parts of bayside (by the water). So the process has begun but I am sooo impatient..maybe I have baby on the brain. We want to have another so badly but the house is first.

I know how you feel. We have a nice apt but really wanted to wait till we have a house to start a family but with house prices these days who knows when that will happen!

We're just starting out with an apartment now. It's really nice though and it's a duplex, so if feels more like a condo than an apartment and since we've both never lived away from home, it feels like a home to us

We live in an apartment for now and we are hopefully going to be out of here by august, before the baby is due. Our apartment is really big but i do not want to start my family here. We are looking at a house now that we are hoping to close on ASAP.

We do!! We still in ur tiny little apartment. Its funny, before we got married we had all these plans to buy a house right away, its funny how things just don't work out!! I lost a job and other unforseen things came up and out went the house hunt. So for now we are stuck here, making the best of it of course, which is really hard. We have kind of outgrown this place and really need more room. Hopefully by summer we will be in a better position to start discussing a move, even if it is into a bigger apartment for now. I am still crossing my fingers that DH will come around and want to move off this friggin island.

We live in an apartment, its a pretty good sized one, but I can't wait until we get a house. We are going to start looking in the next year.

I grew up in Mineola, so if you need any help looking there, I'd be more than happy. There's actually a house for sale on the block I grew up on....my childhood best friend's house....

We currently rent a whole house but I hate it sooo much. It does not feel like home. We just bought a house and are closing in April so I am very excited

We are in a two bedroom and it's really nice and spacious. I'd probably be more antsy to get out than I am, but we lived together in my TINY one bedroom (small bedroom, and a living room with only room for a loveseat) for a few months and it was a pain. When the two bedroom opened up we took it- for a little more money we got so much more space, it feels like a real home. Though we will hopefully be out of here before we have kids, as we're now on the fourth floor of a walk up...
