WHOHOO!!!
I'm so excited! As per my father's request, I was planning a surpirse 40th anniversary party for my mom (well for both of them) but we realized it was going to be kind of pricey, plus the weather could be questionable (April.) So instead I suggested that we (my parents, my sister, my niece and DH and I) go to our timeshare in Puerto Vallarta and do a private vow renewal there.
My dad loved the idea and my mom thinks it's a great idea too!!! We're going to hire a mariachi band to play for their renewal ceremony and then to play while we all have a nice dinner. I'm going to see if the hotel can set the whole thing up on the beach.
We used to go on family vacations all the time, but we haven't been on one since my niece was born- and she'll be almost 7 when we go. WHOHOOO!!!
I'm psyched for my parents, but I can't help being selfishly psyched for me too! DH and I stayed at this resort the second week of our HM and it will be a couple of months before our one year anniversary when we go. Not to mention the fact that we weren't even sure we were going to be able to afford a big vacation this year!
