Who's a boater?

Original post by MLAngelo

As summer comes closer and after reading about Tracy's request to live near the water I was thinking... who among us are boaters?

Where do you boat to?

DH and I love to go out on the boat, but we don't really have friends who boat. Well not locally anyhow. I always wanted to be like my parents, meeting friends out on our boats and spending the day on the bay with friends.

We love to hit Fire Island... Flynns, Ocean Beach, Kismet, Atlantique. Or anchor out at Sailors Haven. When I was young my parents would raft out there, 5-6 boats together.

One day me and DH will be boaters! Thats all my DH wants. Before we got engaged i told him when he bought me my e-ring that i'd buy him a boat of course I could never afford that but one day we will. We both had boats when we were younger and miss it so much!

You can get really good deals on boats... hence why I have 7 in my backyard.

7 holy moly!!

Yeah he buys boats when they are good deals that need some work. Sometimes he fixes and sells them whole, other times he splits them up (boat, motor, trailer.) He really is in it for the motors which he fixes and sells on e-bay. We are now down to 6. I threatened him that I want it down to 5 and if he brings one more boat home he would need a new home to put them at. I feel like a horrible neighbor, but he totally supplements his income with this hobby.

1 is his beautiful hydrostream virage though and 1 is his long term project, a G3. Those I don't mind.

There are also about 15 motors in my garage, though he usually has it tidy so I can put my car in one half, but not this week. Its covered with motor parts.
