Who's cleaning like me today??

I woke up this morning and realized my apt is waaaaaaay too small and cluttered. My desk has been a mess for months, I never use it, just throw crap there that has no other 'home.' And I decided to clean and THROW OUT. I started in the bedroom - didn't throw out too much but organized a little better - and am moving on to the desk now. And the closet - ugh - is next, maybe tomorrow though

Anyone else doing the New Years clean up?

We are! We got rid of the tree and packed up all the Xmas stuff, which was a nuisance. There's nothing worse than putting away Xmas stuff after the holidays are over...

UGH. I know. I am not touching the tree for a week or so. I would take it down this weekend but DH will be away ... so I think we will take it down next week during the week.

we cleaned like crazy and for some reason it's messier than when we started We got rid of our tree and we're getting our new couch on saturday We also washed all the floors because it was so nasty from all the salt

I'm cleaning like I have OCD. Totally PMS'ing----I always clean 'this time of the month.' Cleaning closets, organizing clothes, throwing out all kinds of crap!

Not quite yet but I'm hoping to get to it this weekend. Take the tree down, pack up all the Christmas stuff (which is BEYOND depressing!!) and then we both need to go through our closets/drawers and get rid of some clothes. Each time I do laundry and try to put clothes away, I can't even fit stuff into the drawers! And we know it's stuff we haven't worn in forever... just too lazy to go through it! My 1st resolution for 2009!!

OH, I thought it was just ME who threw out more clothes with every load of laundry!!!!! Not being able to fit anything in the drawers is the reason the laundry never gets put away when I do it. It wil sit folded for weeks sometimes! And then as soon as it's put away, I have three more buckets of laundry that have to be folded about put away. UGH it's horrible. My apartment is soooo small - well the bedroom and closet is, at least. Our big goal in 2009 is to move and buy a house, and it can't come soon enough - every day I mumble under my breath, 'I hate this apartment.' Some days I scream it.

I cleaned yesterday, got some more boxes unpacked and stuff actually put away. DH was at work, so that makes it much easier. He always gets in my way. Tomorrow I'll do some more puttering around, maybe go get my nails done. I'm off, DH has to work.

Today I took it easy, and made a spectacular dinner, a rib roast with bordelaise sauce. Took a long while, but it was well worth it. Just finished cleaning the kitchen, now I'm off to sit with my feet up, a glass of wine and a good book.

MMMM Susi sounds terrific!!!! I cleaned the desk and can see the top of it for the first time in 3 months, it's amazing DH is going away tomorrow night and is out getting ready for it (he is going four-wheeling, has to gather everyone's ATVs, etc) .. I was going to make a mahi-mahi recipe I found online but then realized, duh, I cannot cook it while it's FROZEN (bought stop and shop brand frozen fish) ... so I had leftovers and am now just hanging online. I am deciding whether to rent a movie on optimum ('Once' - heard a ton about it) or start a new book. I'm off tomorrow too, so I can stay up as long as I like - nice feeling!

You will finish don't worry. Give yourself a timeline of what you want to get through. Just think of how much better you will feel once it's done.

I started cleaning yesterday but I'll honestly probably clean more tomorrow and Sunday here at our place in LI.

Monday I'll start cleaning and purging at our place in Queens.

Everything is a mess post wedding.

That is my plan this weekend... need to do some heavy duty cleaning... plus i still have some boxes that need to be unpacked.... i feel like i will never finish... i still have so much stuff at my parents house! (little do they know it will be there for a long time! )
