Why?

I've had a horrible day at work.....l'm still here (from 9 am) and am going to be here for a bit more.

I'm working on this project with one of the junior attorneys who is based in our NYC office (I'm out in LI). I've been waiting and waiting for him to email me something. He kept saying he sent it - it's not here. After my FIFTH phone call to him, I say, where are you emailing it to - his reply: 'GM______@___.com' UMMMMM ok but I'm still 'GS______@___.com' exactly how it is in the company directory.

His reply 'I don't understand why you need to keep your name. If I were your husband, I'd have an issue with it.' OK AZZhole - if you were my husband, I'D be the one with the issue. I just laughed it off and said 'good thing I'm not married to you....hahaha'

Don't think I'm not saying something to the partners tomorrow - what a d!ck.

What an @ss! Whats wrong with wanting to keep your name?

He's seriously a douche bag. It's no secret at work (in both our NYC and LI office) that I am keeping my maiden name. I've been in this field for over 20 years - I'm not about to change it now.

I don't mind being called Mrs. M_____ by people who don't know that I kept my maiden name, but it's insulting when it's done by the people who know better.

My assistant (who is an ANGEL for staying late with me) just told me to call him by a different first name from now on and see what happens. From now on, I'm calling him by every first name I can think of rather than his own

People are a real pain in...
I get the opposite; why did you have to change your name?? you should just kept your maiden name...
