Will Fortunoff be the next chain to bite the dust?

so sad!

Fortunoff bye-bye?

It's Official!

WESTBURY, N.Y. (Feb. 5) - Fortunoff, a chain of housewares stores in the Northeast, said Thursday it has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection and is seeking a buyer.
The chain sells jewelry, furniture and other household goods at three full-line stores and operates 16 outdoor furniture stores.

A friend of mine has worked there for 6 years. She has just been told her last day will be Friday the 13th. How fitting So many people are losing their jobs. It's sad. If you have any gift card better use them in the next week.

I went the last 2 days with my gift cards...a friend of a friend works for them and said they may only be taking GC's till this weekend so HURRY up if you have GC's...also I heard they locked up the NYC location w/o any notice.....

I have a small credit from when I used a gift card. I wonder if I can use it for a phone order? I'm not sure I can get there this weekend. Was it a mad house when you went?

do you think they'll do a liquidation sale?
