Wish me luck!

Tonight after work, I'm going over to mom-zilla's with my giant box-o-proofs, because she insisted on picking out every picture in her parent album and enlargements!

Luckily, or unluckily I guess, I don't have a crazy amount of pics so it shouldn't take super long...but I always kinda figured I'd pick out the pictures that I thought were best or relevant to our family and give it to my parents as a suprise/gift? Did everyone else's parents take such an, um, active role in the album selection?

I guess I never thought about it - I told my mom to pick out whatever pictures she wanted for her album. I don't seem motivated enough to pick my own pictures - I can't imagine doing that for my mom and then my dad and then the ILs.

I don't have to worry about it with the DH's parents - his mother already announced that she's going to have a hard time picking 24 since there were so many pictures of me and my family.

I'm holding off for a bit. Just not into it yet.

Sorry - I know it's obviously a point of contention for you - but EVERYTIME you share something about this woman I laugh! It's like she is a caricature of a MIL! Like, if I was writing a movie and I needed a witchy MIL, I would cast your MIL and have her just be herself. It's insane.

Anyway Ali, I can't help you because we are nowhere near doing our albums yet, but I'll probably encourage my mom and MIL to pick what they want and then throw in a couple of extras for good measure.

my mom let me pick hers out..she just requested not to have any of my drunk friends..which was ard lol

I actually sent a copy of the CD of our images to my parents (they are in FL) and let them choose what they wanted.

With the IL's, I will have FIL pick out his 5 for the portfolio and I am on verge of picking out one of MIL and DH and that's all she's getting.

We haven't even selected our TY picture yet; not in the mood nor do I think we have that one 'great' picture for a TY.

good luck!!! i don't even get to do that...because we didn't read our contract and i didn't realize we don't even get parent albums included... and we don't have the $$ for them otherwise. :o( i hope you have fun doing it! (and it goes fast otherwise!)

I left the books at my parents and told them to pick 25 by the time my dad and I go see Michael on Feb 2.

DH's parents I sat down with, she wanted to do it with me, yet she picked one photo of me getting ready and one pic with my parents in them and one of my dad walking me down the aisle. Every other picture is either with DH or his family and one of my hugging MIL which is cute. They even chose the pictures of our vows to be the ones where you can see his brothers.

That was a brutal process! And what made it worse was that my parents didn't even really like my pictures They're not big into artsy, and weren't feeling all the different angles and lighting. Sigh...not what I needed. I feel very fortunate though that our albums were upgraded to 30 pics for the parents....they never would have been able to pick 20. I'm just a little sad that of my 828 proofs my parents only liked 33...and only had to 'cut' 3 pics from their album choices. Tough critics, yeesh! I should have just picked them myself and said deal!
