with all this preggo talk

Original post by failurebydsign

Am I the only one that is a fan of teen pregnancy?

Not like I advocate it and think that every teen should hurry and get knocked up..But I don't see anything wrong with it AT ALL..Except when they just dump the baby on their parents and still act like a moron and get drunk everynight

but being a young mom its like my dream..I feel that IM a little older then I wanted to be to have my first child..But we've been trying for a year now and still nothing..I kept saying that if I wasn't pregnant by 25 I wasn't going to have kids at all

just wanted to get that out there

I don't know what is wrong with me today

I *kind of* get what you're trying to say, I think.

I had Ella when I was 34. I think for ME, it was good timing. However, I see friends of mine whose kids are already 10 or so and I think 'wow, we still have a long way to go.' And when they had their kids, I was jelaous that I was getting older & they had their families started & I did not.

Now, when Ella goes off to college, I will already be in my 50's. My best friend's kids might already be married by then. They will be empty nesters in a few years and able to travel, etc. We will still be raising a child.

ummm...a 'fan of teen pregnancy'??

my exact thoughts!

anyhow, i dont think teens are ready for babies. they are too young! they are babies themselves.
there is so much living and learning to do and having a baby at a very young age will impede that.

i think there is a time for everything. and having a baby in your teens is not a wise choice. it happens, and what can you do but , i wouldnt say im a 'fan' of it. i dont think many teens walk around wishing they were pregnant. it happens and they take it from there...

thats more of what i was saying

me and DH say is we would already have a kid now we could have them raised and still be in our late 30s early 40s

thats more of when i want to do things with DH..not now..i want to have children and raise them and they have a family life for a while then do things with DH

teen pregnancy not so much!

NOT AT ALL.

I think people need to learn how to be responsible first.

I mean if it happens on 'accident' and they grow from it...then that's great but a fan of teen pregnancy.....hell no!

No such things as getting pregnant by accident, if youre having unprotected sex and know that your period is weeks away; you're looking to get pregnant JMO and no one should really endorse, condone teen pregnany. We are no longer in a time when people died at ages 30 and up. The human race is in the billions. Since they made women have babies at a young age just as so to ensure she'd bare more than at least 3, teen pregnancy is not something that should be shrugged off as the norm. I dont think it's cute, cool. I am not bashing any teen moms who in the end grew up into women who took care of their responsiblities. But I am talking about times where these young girls dont learn their lessons from the 1st b/c Mom (grandma) is taking care of them as if it was her child and she then goes on to have more. People think that when a young girl gets pregnant the best way for her to learn a lesson is to let her have the baby. Then what? If youre one of those parents who thinks ok she learned her lesson she can now go out to party hang out with friends and so forth. that's when things happen and #2 is not too far away. To be a Parent you shoud be able to not only care for the child financially but also be able to wash and wipe your own a$$ too since most young girls cant do either sometimes. All JMO

Are you kidding? A fan of teen pregnancy? What age do you think it's ok for a teen to get pregnant? 13? The age of consent in New York State is 17. That's for a reason!

I couldn't say it better. I can say, as an attorney for children, that more often than not, it is a BAD idea. Being a young married mom is a different story. Same thing with being a young and fiscally responsible parent. But if you spend a day watching the negatives of teen pregnancy in a courtroom, you will see. A baby is a human life that is completely dependent on its parents. Unfortunately, in my opinion, with the wave of pregnancies in Hollywood, a baby is the 'it' accessory of the season. But unlike the dress that you can just throw away, a baby is forever. The teenage brain is not developed enough and does not think like the adult brain and hence, not ready for the responsibility. I agree. Workign as a teacher/mentor when i did my student teaching and then just worked at the school, it was amazing what you would see. I was always thinkign MY GOD! Kids are having kids! I see it on the subway all the time and the majority fo the time I want to slap the mother who is calligng her kid a little creep and slapping them around for BEING A KID!

def agree with all the ladies who say you need a certain maturity level to have kids and sacrfice for them that most teens do not have. I also agree that parents should be GRANDPARENTS ONLKY not pseudo mommy and daddy. If its an accident that ***** and hopefully the teen's parents will help out. BUT do i think the teen should have a kid with the expectation of her parents taking care of the baby? ABSOLUTELY NOT! that alone shows immaturity.

Re: with all this preggo talk

regardless if it is accepted in KS or wherever, being a young parent is not a good idea.

kids should be worrying about proms, boyfriends/girlfriends, driving, getting into bars, careers, etc,
not worrying about 3 am feedings.

but if you prefer to be a young mom, that is great.
esp. if you experienced a lot in your life by now.
otherwise, i think everyone should be able to llive their life selfishly before jumping into parenthood.
