DH works for an airline. We have our trip to Jamaica booked for August. We purposely splurged and booked a Couples resort b/c we thought we'd be flying for free and thus saving hundreds of dollars. Well, things aren't going so well for DH at his job, as I have posted about before. We both think they are out to get him, so to speak, and are worried they are just itching to fire him. If we do book our free flights, what if they then decide to fire him like a day or 2 before we leave for our vacation?! We would be totally screwed!!! I asked our TA to keep her eyes out for cheap (HA) flights to Jamaica but I am not counting on that.
I don't know if we should attempt to book the free flights and risk being screwed out of them? Or should we just pay for the flights and use another airline? Or, should we cancel the whole Jamaica thing and go elsewhere and pay for the flights?! UCK!!! I absolutely hate this! DH is miserable but he refuses to quit b/c it'd give them too much satisfaction.
Advice, ladies?

which couples resorts are you going to? we did couples on our HM. i can honestly tell you that you will be BLOWN AWAY by the amazing service of the staff at Couples -- as well as all the things that are included in your stay.
We are going to Couples Sans Souci in Ocho Rios. I know they are all supposed to be amazing but we chose Ocho Rios over the 2 in Negril simply b/c they're a bit closer to the things we'd want to do while we're there, like Dunn's River, etc. I can't wait! I have never been to an AI resort!

Omg you are gonna LOVE IT!
We stayed at Couples Ocho Rios (now called Tower Isle). The only slight negative thing is the long ride from the airport...it does take awhile. But other than that, there is nothign to complain about!!!!
Tell them its your HM and you get a free couples massage.
We did the Dunn's River Falls -- I didn't realize you had to climb UP like hundreds of feet in rushing water in a human chain. So I wasn't as happy about that cause I slipped and bruised my knee a few times. You MUST have water shoes to do the water falls -- so bring them ahead of time so you don't have to buy them there.
Take the shopping shuttle into town and you'll find lots of souvenirs and stuff.
From the moment you arrive to the moment you leave, you will be pampered and feel like you never want to leave....the staff is just unreal at Couples. We discovered so many employees had been there for YEARS and even knew some of the vacationers who were returning for their 2nd, 3rd or 4th trip back!

I'm actually really excited!!! The original price that our TA had quoted us for a week at the Couples resort WITHOUT the airfare was around $2900. On a whim, I went onto the Couples website and started messing around. They have some new promo thing going on, and it was telling me that WITH airfare, the total would've only been $3200! I asked my TA if she could get that deal for us, b/c ideally I'd like to book with her, but if she couldn't get it for us I'd just book thru Couples. She just emailed me back and said it's a go!
I am SO excited! I think we're getting a pretty good deal! And now we don't have to worry about if DH's stupid job screws us over or not!

Jetblue is just starting to fly to Jamaica this month. My inlaws got a pretty good deal flying into Montego bay and they are staying in Ocho Rios too.

YAY!!! You just made me even MORE excited!!! I cannot WAIT! I am not thrilled about the long ride from the airport, either, especially since I am prone to motion sickness, and God forbid I get sick on the plane, getting in a car for 2 hours is NOT gonna be fun! But, hopefully I'll be fine I had spent a lot of time on the Couples Message Boards asking questions and stuff. They all seem so nice and everyone just raves about it! YAY!
