DH invited his whole extended family over without consulting you first? Its not like I had plans but I had an idea as to what I wanted to do and I can tell you that it didn't involve hosting 10-15 people at my house.
Am I overreacting??? Because I am pissed.

yeah I would, my dad does that to my mom all the time though... but not family, friends... still it drives my mom nuts. But he has been doing it since I was a kid. At least he makes plans.

especially when i wasn't in the mood or had been thinking of other plans, i'd be fuming! that's a lot of work and sometimes you just don't want to be 'on'... i'd def tell him that he should really talk to you beforehand next time! but i hope that you had a nice time :o)

I would be upset too!
As a matter of fact, MIL blew off DH and I when we had Christmas at our house; she claims she was sick.
Anywho...she asked about coming over this past weekend but we wouldn't be home. Only to find out she asked BIL, SIL and nephew to come with her and she didn't even tell DH!
She has no balls to visit us on her own...

I would have flipped out!!!! He would also have to call them back and tell them we had plans that slipped his mind...bc if they came over i'd be leaving and he'd be entertaining 15 people all on his own!

I'd be pissed too...I too have a clan of 15 people lol. Luckily for me, in our apartment we can't host everyone at one clip, but I'd still be a little annoyed if everyone just showed up with no warning whatsoever.
