Would you be upset? How would you handle this with your DH?

Would you be upset? How would you handle this with your DH?
OK, obviously we love the DH. Just returned from honeymoon - things are great. I baked him a cake yesterday to take to work - it was an angel food cake with sprinkles and football decorations. Very easy to make. OK, he loves it, takes it to work this morning - and I'm waiting to get a phone call or emai from him saying how everyone liked it - and nothing! it's 12:30! Am I being too sensitive? I'm thinking of saying nothing until he gets home tonight and wait to see if he says something then. He's a wall street trader and very busy at work so i'm assuming he is too busy or plain forgot to say something to me...?

If my DH made/gave me something to bring into work, I'd tell him how it went when I got home. There is no need to call in the middle of the day.

I bake for DH's job all the time! He says tahnk you right away and tells me later when he gets home that everyone liked it. His co-workers also thank me personally when I see them.

I would back off. He is prob busy at work and will tel you later on.
IMHO: sending your husband to work with a full cake is to 'mommyish' for my taste. If you baked cookies or something and he took a few its different in my eyes.
Let us know what happens.

I agree...he's waiting to see you to tell you all about in person...and thank you the right way!

I worked on Wall Street and never called DH during the day. I think you're being too sensitive.

I agree, my DH would be a little embarrased to be bringing in homebaked goods from me...But I don't really want the happy homemaker stigma anyway..Not that there's anything wrong with that...

This says it all, my dear. I'm SURE he loved your cake, as did everyone else, but I am also sure that his job takes priority. Plus, I'm sure he's waiting until he gets home to thank you

You're being too sensitive. If he doesn't say anything when he gets home, ask him.

THanks for all the advice - he ended up calling me when he had some free time to tell me how much everyone liked it - FYI, i'm not going for a stigma, nor do i present myself as a happy homemaker. i'm a social worker in an east harlem elementary school and from my experience with young boys and girls, i know how far one hug, one pat on the back, or one simple gesture such as giving home-made goods can bring!
(it also took me two seconds!) thanks, again!

I hope the wall street brokers enjoyed your homemade goodies!
