Would you quit your job to do another job that would make you 100% happier, if the pay was less than what you are making now?

Do you absolutely hate your job? I would need to know if the new job would have room for growth aka a big fat raise anytime soon, if I had job security, how the hours would compare.
I would probably leave any job that was mediocre for something I would love. I would just want to work out all the details. The best part about being with a company for a long time is building up vacation time. If I had 4 weeks off I would hate to leave and start with only 2 weeks. I have all the proper working priorities don't I

Yes, I am an NOT happy with the position I am in right now……….it’s a great position (assistant to the Chief of Cardiology), BUT, it’s not fulfilling for me. I have the opportunity to work with patients directly, but the money is less. My DH just got a raise and I know if I took this other job, we would be fine financially…..but just wasn’t sure if it was the right thing to do – going back instead of going forward. But I know it will make me so much happier! So confused! Ugh! Just need to be sure that taking a step back is an OK thing to do……..there is advancement (financially and position wise) in the future……..

Absolutely. You said that it won't be a problem financially and there is room for advancement. Being happy in your job is so important. It really isn't a 'step back' if it's going to improve the quality of your life.

i most certainly would then again i quit my job for no job haha... so i might be the minority .. money doesn't buy happiness, it comes from being happy in every facet of your life

I say do it! I know you feel like it is a step back, but it's not. It is a step forward into your future! If you are not fulfilled by what you do now and an opportunity presents itself, take it! JMHO, GL!

Doing something for yourself is never a step back. I think if it is really what you want and has opportunity for advancement you should definitely go for it. Just make sure you can sneak onto LIW.
GOOD LUCK

Depends on if we were really in need of the extra $$$. I would most definitely leave it to be happier though if we were in a place where we could handle the drop in pay.

took a $2500 paycut when I left my old job.. I hated it so bad there that I would have taken less and I love my job now!!! And it didn't affect us financially, so it worked out
