Would you quit your job to do another job that would make you 100% happier, if the pay was less than what you are making now?

totally depends.....
how much less $ are we talking here? How driven are you by $?

Would you still make enough to withhold a lifestyle that you are cofortable with?

Would this new job be an advance for your overall career?

I would definitely do it if it were a career change or to fulfill a goal, or to enhance my overall life. I would NOT do it if it were just b/c I hated my current job, and wanted to get out and the only thing available were something that paid less but had no promise to contribute to my long term life goals.

It would depend on how much less that job pays but I can say I would probably do it b/c I have thought of this myself in the past. It's terrible when you are working at a job that doesn't make you feel happy or content.

i would quit my job in a heart beat if i could find another job. my job is so unfulfilling, i would give anything to be working in non-profit arts again, but the market here is soooo small. i would have to take a paycut, because there's no way i'd be making as much as i am at the mutual fund at say, a regional theatre, but as long as i could pay the bills, i'd be out in a second, without a second thought!! i used to work at a non-profit music school making about half as much as i do now and even though we sometimes lived paycheck to paycheck, i was happier than i've ever been!!

No. In order for DH and I to continue to have the life style we want we can not afford a pay cut.
The only way I would be able to take a pay cut for a better job would be if I also picked up a second job which I just don't have the time for.
