Re: Would you sell your dress?
i'd only sell it if i got what i paid for it lol then it would be worth the money! otherwise i rather keep it and let it hang in my closet collecting dust!

Re: Would you sell your dress?
I go back and forth with this alot....
it seems so sad to see my dress just hanging on the back of the door....I feel like it could make someone else's dreams come true. But then the sentimental side of me would be sad to part with it..
So I'm not sure.
I guess if I was going to sell it on ebay, I'd start the bidding at 1500 (I paid 5k for my dress). So figure a 75% off discount.
I think about this alot.

This is pretty much exactly the way I feel!

Re: Would you sell your dress?
I orginally was going to sell my dress for about 1/3 of what I paid for it...then I ended up donating it to that girl whose house burnt down. Either way...I was SO sad about getting rid of it. The night before I literally took it out of the bag and hugged it...HAHA

NO WAY! I will have a daughter one day and she WILL wear my dress on her wedding day, whether she likes it or not!

Funny you say this. My mom's dress is SO dated, same for my aunts, etc. I wonder if in 30 years our dresses will look ridiculous to our daughters. I can't see how, they just seem so elegant, compared to what was worn in the 70s.
I want to keep mine and use fabric from it to make christening gowns or something perhaps, like fabric from the inside

I was going to sell it, but decided that i will make either a christening outfit out of it or a baby blanket when I have a child.

I keep going back and forth too… I don’t even know if I COULD sell it, since I never got it cleaned and parts of the train are VERY muddy.
I’ll probably keep it and just let it collect dust forever.
DH wants me to get rid of it though, it’s taking up like our entire closet.

Re: Would you sell your dress?
I honestly love my dress so much I really dont think I could part with it. I want to do a day-after shoot with it sometime between the spring & the fall, and then have it preserved again, and have my mom or MIL make a christening outfit for our child/children some day.
I know this sounds so terribly selfish, but I just dont want to give away/sell a part of what was the most important day in my life....JMHO
