Would you sell your dress?

Original post by KittyGags

And if so, at what kinda discount from what you paid? Just curious...

I'd sell it in a heartbeat. As much as I loved my dress, I have no sentimental attachment to it whatsoever.

i go back and forth too, but I think I want to donate it to somewhere that will give it to someone who needs it. I will never have a need for it

Re: Would you sell your dress?

I could never get rid of my dress. My parents didn't have a wedding. Just town hall and dinner after. Giving me the wedding of my dreams and buying me my dress was so important to them. Because of this I don't think I would ever be able to part with something they worked so hard to give me.

NO WAY! I will have a daughter one day and she WILL wear my dress on her wedding day, whether she likes it or not!

Funny you say this. My mom's dress is SO dated, same for my aunts, etc. I wonder if in 30 years our dresses will look ridiculous to our daughters. I can't see how, they just seem so elegant, compared to what was worn in the 70s.

I want to keep mine and use fabric from it to make christening gowns or something perhaps, like fabric from the inside

yeah DH said wouldnt you want our daughter to wear your dress...im like sure if she wanted too but i just know what i feel about my moms dress and there was noway i would wear hers! LOL it had long flowy sleeves!! LOL! im like lord knows what the kids will be wearing when its time for our kids to get married!!
