Last year when we moved in to our apartment, we did our walk thru/got our keys a few days before our lease date began.
DH & I signed our lease for our new apartment. Our move in date is 6/5. I thought since we got our keys a few days early last year - they would let us get the keys this weekend.
No they wont... Well not without a lil bit of extra $....
(side note: we're already paying rent for the first 7 days of the month in the apartment we're currently living)

Wait it out, you're already paying the extra on the old apt.

I would say to just pay to have everything be more convenient, 200 in the grand scheme of things isn't a lot. DH and I paid a full month of rent before we even lived in our apartment, starting 11/1, just so we had a month to get all our furniture, clothes, appliances, cable, etc. settled in. I can't even imagine if we didn't have that buffer!

Thanks for looking at the other side of it! I was beginning to think I was the only person thinking it may just be worth it to pay the extra $$.
Butttt - DH doesnt want to.
We're gonna discuss it tonight and see what our options really are. I may try switching the move in & move out dates....

I think being that you have things setup already, I would just go ahead and pay the extra money if you can swing it. Having the extra buffer is definitely good to have so you can go back and forth between the two places and move your stuff

I would just pay the money- it would be so much easier and 200.00 isnt 'that much'
We had to PUT 10,000 into the house we r living into before we could even live there so if u can have furniture delivered and be in there early DO ITTTT

I completely agree! When we closed on our co-op we had 3 weeks before we had to be out of our old apartment and boy did we need it!
