WWYD ... Anniversary Trip
So, because I'm bored at work - and I can not *not* plan a trip for DH and I... even though we're doing a family trip to Disney in Sept 2012... and even though DH and I agreed to do 1 'big' trip a year....and Jan was hour HM - so this year & next year are technically 'out'...I desperately want to go away (other than our trip upstate in Aug)...
I've decided to book a trip for the end of April and give it to DH for our Anniversary & to make up for his bummy 50th b-day (my BFF's mom passed away - we spent it at a funeral... was supposed to do a weekend in NYC going to shows etc.. We did see a show the following weekend, but it was kinda a bust...).
Sooooooooooo
I can get w/ my TA discount and DH's AARP discount (
) a great price on a cruise to Bermuda - the NCL Gem - 7 days for 1699.98 (including all taxes & the prepaid gratuities).OR
I can get Cancun 7 nights All Inclusive at the Golden Parnassis for $2087.56.
Money wise, would it be the smartest thing to do? Probably not, but since we can afford it...why put it in the house fund...

Re: WWYD ... Anniversary Trip
I voted the Mexico all inclusive since the cruise you will have to pay for the alcohol anyways...and well DH and I that would be a bummer to see that bill at the end.And - you're a TA??

Re: WWYD ... Anniversary Trip
I know that I would spend more money on the cruise than I would at the all inclusive. I say go for the all inclusive!

And - you're a TA??
Well... yes & no...

I worked as a TA for 10 years before I switched jobs...
I now currently work for a Meeting Planning company in Accounting... but when I left the agency, some of my old clients refused to let me go and moved along with me - so I kind of do it now on the side for fun...

Re: WWYD ... Anniversary Trip
i would definitely do *something* ... but if i were you, i'd prob do something like a 3-4 day trip to chicago or vegas or some other place in the US.but if all i had are the above 2 options, i'd go for the all inclusive since it prob makes more sense money-wise.

Re: WWYD ... Anniversary Trip
I love Cancun, but I prefer Bermuda. Unless you and your DH are big boozers, take the cruise. Ifyou are like me and can drink your body weight in liquor, than go all inclusive

Re: WWYD ... Anniversary Trip
Does the price of the cancun trip include airfare? If not, I would take the cruise - to be more economical

MEXICO!!!! I'm just not a cruise fan. But you also asked for the most responsible thing money-wise which would not be Mexico but I am always in favor of a vaca over staying home!!!Welcome New Vendors
