X-Post Seamstress

Hi girls,

I am wondering if you guys could recommend a seamstress to alter a wedding dress. I am having a second reception and decided to buy a second dress at RK bridal.

With the reception being so close (august) they have very few appointments and the times they have are very inconvinient. So can anyone recommend a seamstress?

How about contacting the seamstress from Lotus. She also works @ kleinfelds, I am sure she will also do outside jos. BTW where are you having your 2nd reception. How cool you get to relive your special day again.

DH is from Israel. So his family wanted to have a second reception there. We leave August 11 and the reception is August 20th. My parents are coming with us so we will be traveling most of the time. I am really excited.

Oh and I was going to try Lotus. Dunno if they will do it but its worth a try.

I dont know where you live but we used a seamstress in Centereach. She did all my girls' dresses and had I know what a disaster David's Bridal would've been altering my dress, I would've used them, too! The place is called Rosie's Tailoring. Good luck!

And this is totally random, but I happened to see your FH is from Israel... is he Jewish? Does he happen to have any single Jewish friends he's looking to set up with a great Jewish girl? LOL! Sorry... my BFF is single and Jewish and having no luck finding someone! Had to try!

Thanks for the recommendations.

And yes FH is Jewish. I read him this post and he said what age?

Don't know where you are located but my seamstress, Jo is great. She has done all my general alterations for at least 10 years and did my sister's wedding gown and our bridesmaid gowns, and for my wedding she did all the alterations for my entire wedding party. SHe is in West Babylon and her number is 631.661.4576.

Tell her Kirsten sent you in case she asks you where you got her number from, she likes to work from referrals mostly. GL!!

I worked with the seamstress located across the street from 99-01 63rd Drive on Rego Park, it's the dry cleaners facing Pioneer Supermarket. The lady in there is wonderful. She did an amazing job with my alterations with the hemming and train on my gowns. She's very precise and thorough with the work. She does the measurements right on the spot. I dropped off one of my gowns and let her know that I need it to be ready in about a week. She did it right on time two days before my wedding day. The prices are affordable and lower than most dry cleaners in the area. I would highly recommend working with her.
