Xmas before you were married- gifts- separate or together???
Did you give gifts to your family and his separately or together?
My GF says that it should have always been together gifts.
I know when DH and I were dating I gave my own separate gifs to his family. I saw nothing wrong with it.
Now that we are married it will be together gifts.

We always did it together.
....But I do not see anything wrong with giving separate gifts.

Before we were married we did together gifts to his family. My sister and I did together gifts for my mom and DH & I would get something else for my mother. Now it's together gifts to everyone.

While we were just dating we did seperate gifts. Once we got engaged and married all the gifts are together : ).

When we first started dating - it was separate - as we went on in years we did joint gifts. I see nothing wrong with either - personal choice. But I do think if you aren't dating very long - it just seems nicer to give a gift alone rather than as a couple.

We gave together as soon as our finances were pooled which was when we started to live together.

Hubby and I opened our gifts by ourselves, I usually stayed at his house then we went to my moms to open together

Roger has too huge a family so we only send cards. If we did give gifts it would be joint. Unless one special person and I had a special bond outside of just being family. We do not give my parents gifts. I give my mom and her husband gifts. I give my Stepson his gift from me. Roger gives him his own gift.

We used to do seperate gifts. Now that we are married we bought all of our gifts together. I also think it's much easier that way.

In the beginning we did separate gifts, but once we were seriously involved, we did together gifts and have ever since.

I like doing the joint now- less $$$$ to spend.
Just did not like the fact that my friend said that it should have been joint all along.
I have special bonds with my MIL and one of BIL so I enjoyed getting them something just from me.

separate while we were dating & engaged and together since we have been married.
