Is it a Milestone Birthday? Are you having it somewhere? I think the dress is a nice idea, but the flowers may draw attention to the ladies rather than your DH....?

I don't think it is cheesy at all. His mother is the one that gave him birth, you are his wife that will bear his children and your mom gave birth to you. I think it is nice to pay homage to the women in his life. As far as dressing, go for it! I love to dress up!

Well explain more about this party! Is it at a hall? A lot of people? imo the coursage thing is a bit much for a b-day party

i think it really depends on how you are doing the b-day party...If it is formal enough for a long gown ...then i would do my make-up
But i still wouldn't do the corsages

I don't think you need to go for the corsages...that may be weird at a 30th Birthday Party.

i think the corsages will be out of place being that you (and your mother and his) are not the 'guest of honor' (which is the one who usually wears it). the gown itself will make you stand out as well! oh, and go for the makeup!

I don't think it's cheesy, but I think I might leave the corsages out. It might be a bit much. Personally, I would give his Mom a rose. Kind of a 'thank you' for bringing him into the world and raising him to be the man he is.
Definitely go for the gown and make-up though. It sounds like you've done a lot of work! So treat yourself!

yeah, I'd skip the corsages, too. I'd get your hair & make up done though, especially if you are wearing a gown. I LOVED having mine done for my wedidng--I felt so much more put together. I may do it for other people's weddings too.
ETA- do you have gown, or are you getting one? If you are getting one, I'd go with something a little fun, so even though it is floor length it doesn't look like you are trying too hard.

Getting makeup done and the gown is fine, but I'd leave the corsages out too.

Personally I don't like corsages for anything.

Nope, not cheesy at all...I say do whatever will make the evening more enjoyable for you. A 30th B-day is a big thing.
