Re: Children

We spoke about it on our first date and neither one of us want children. Everyone says what great parents we would make, and I feel guilty or 'bad' sometimes, but I never had a desire for kids. I went to a psychic party at the weekend and she kept saying we're having kids and soon.

We have finally agreed that if it happens by accident we'll be happy and if one of us changes our mind that we will discuss it then, but other than that, we have no plans.

We are still unsure if we are ever going to have children. Certainly not in the near future, maybe in 4 or 5 years we will reconsider.

i want one or two and we want them soon. People are differnt in what they want and that is ok if they don't or do want them

We agreed on the same thing. To have just one. I see how my nieces are when they are together and they are wild. I think it will be nicer to have just one.

Same here. One kid for us. TOPS!

While I do not echo your sentiments, I understand where you are coming from. You need not feel guilty.

Kids are not for everyone. Better to really be sure. My aunt has one (messed up) child and has always been very vocal about not having really wanted kids. People are really screwed up!

We are on the fence too. We like our lifestyle the way it is but lean toward having kids in a few years.

I know that children bring many joys in life, but the main thing I think about is, if we do not have children, will we feel lonely as we get on in age?? Who will we visit with and spend our holidays with? What if, God forbid, one of us dies? DH and I have 5 siblings between us, but all are starting families and I wouldn't want us to be the old, childless couple who they always have to invite for Christmas!!

Does anyone else have these silly worries?

I could have written this post!

We are on the fence too about children, although I do think we will have them eventually. I'm 31 right now, and in reality, we can't even begin to think about it until I'm 35.
