I'm not sure about the febreze but i definitely think that you should open some windows just in case.

btw was it the febreze aerosol or squirt bottle?

Just to be sure, I think u should leave the house (and call the fire dept?). Better safe then sorry!!!!
I'd be freaking out too----esp. since DH is away!

ok so i just sprayed the febreze directly into the detector and it went off again as 'gas'.... i guess that settles it then?!

If it stopped and only started up again when you sprayed it then it may in fact be the Febreze. Wow that is really weird though!!

YEAH tell me about it!!!! VERY weird!!

i know that i would have smelled the gas if there really was gas leaking... but it was still very very scary - esp b/c i'm home alone!!

omg so wierd... Yesterday night actuallyour carbon monoxide detector went off and said 'move to fresh air'. I was freaking out but Dh was convinced it was nothing because he didnt smell gas.. but i told him that you cant see or smaill carbon dioxide!! he just laughed at me cause I said we were going to die in our sleep, lol.. said I was overreacting.

Anyway we opened all the windows and it stopped, we slept with the windows opened a little just in case though!!

Be careful...carbon monoxide does not have an odor..I would get out of your house and call the fire department

it said that it detected GAS not carbon monoxide... the detector said that if there was carbon monoxide, it was flash CO... if it detected explosive gas, it would flash GAS.... it flashed GAS - therefore, i know its not CO

My DH has explosive gas and it doesnt set off the alarm.


Hope everything is okay. Im sure if you sprayed Febreze in it thats what set it off. I wish I could try and see with mine but mine broke.
