i know it's a little late, but when it beeps then beeps again 10-30 seconds later it's usually the battery (you need to change it). if there were carbon monoxide in the house it'd be going off constantly.

btw, you can't smell or see carbon monoxide, so don't use that as a judge.

i know you cant smell CO - the detector said it detected 'explosive gas' not CO
