Re: Registering
Def. odd!! I guess instead of telling ppl the kid wants this or that, they just registered for it... Still strange to me though.

Re: Registering
yea it kind of takes the fun out of it- at least for me- I had found a really cute outfit at macys- she loves sesame and the color yellow and it was such a cute dress

Odd but a good idea, atleast the kid would get something he/she likes

Re: Registering
I've usually found Babies R Us, but I guess since it's a birthday party and not a baby shower...
Hmm, I've thought about it a little more, and I can't say I've heard of a registry for a 'birthday party'. I guess to each his own.

Honestly, its kind of rude I think! What is that teaching the kid about gifts? that they're entitled to them, so give ppl a list of things you want?

i think you should still get the outfit. just because it's a registry doesn't mean you have to get a gift from it. i'm sure the girl will love the outfit!
that's definitely a bit off. registering for a baby or wedding is one thing, but just for a b-day. that's a little much.

We are going to my friend's daughter's 2nd birthday party on Saturday- and umm she registered (at Toys R Us) -- is that common? I thought it was odd!
Is there a TON of things on the registry? Or just a few nice gifts???
Is it also mostly toys, or are there some clothes, or baby needs in there as well?? Maybe it's a way for the parents to say 'hey, we need some stuff so help us out?'
Just another thought.

ummm I printed it out to go to toys r us at lunch- its six pages. she is a single mom- but she has a great job and the baby is so loved by everyone and we are always bringing her little things

Me too....what's next, a car registry? lol
This reminds me of the bride that had wanted to register for money at a bank for her wedding

Re: Registering
Considering that she is going to be 2 I highly doubt she had any influence on the registering part. I think it's a bit odd, but it kind of makes sense. I mean as a parent, do you want to have the hassle of returning clothes that don't fit or repeat toys? Definitely does help eliminate that.

LOL...yes she was seriously considering it and didn't want to register for her shower or wedding since she had everything she needed. It was an online registry I think.

very true- thats a good way to look at it! And I guess it eliminates everyone asking- what should I get her too-
