If it is a special occasion, like say my bday, my parents will pay or vice versa. We take turns too but I feel like my parents pay for us alot more and they shouldnt, neither should DH's parents. I always feel bad when they pay :(
I feel like a spoiled brat saying this- but I never even considered paying for my parents- I think it would insult them- my family is italian and its just how its done.
dh's family its different- his mom doesnt work, but if her boyfriend comes, he usually pays for us and we just leave the tip
you're not a brat! because thats exactly how i feel!
my parents ALWAYS pay for us. we'll sometimes grab the tip or pay for a bottle of wine or something but my parents refuse anything else. we're they're kids and they know that we're trying to start out on our own.
his fam-- we pay.

It depends. Neither of them ever want us to pay. Sometimes with DH's parents we can grab the bill first. If they do we leave the tip. Same with my parents.

I only have my mom around, so when we go out to eat it depends on who has more money lol She would like to pay all of the time, but I don't think it's fair. She works 2 jobs, and she shouldn't have to take care of me at 26 years old.
I feel really bad whenever she pays for anything for me.
When we go out with DH's parents, or I go out with his mom, she usually insists on paying. It's very rare that they let us pay for anything, unless it's a birthday. When I go out with his mom I always try to pay b/c she has done so much for me in the past.

Usually my parents. We have to fight them for the bill! If it's their bday or mother's/father's day we obviously pay.
