I'd say either cash or a gift certificate are both nice. I'd probably give $150.

If you can afford it, I'd say give them exactly what they gave you.We had a few friends who were unable to attend our wedding and they sent us cards with the same amount we gave them at their weddings.

I agree. A wedding gift isn't about paying for your plate, its about giving a gift to someone to celebrate their marriage.

ITA... if you can afford what they gave you .. then I'd do that...... Dh and I are going to a wedding 'party' for good friends of ours daughter...we both belive we should give to her what they gave to us.
If its not in your budget... then I'd agree.. give a nice bottle of champagne and the monetary gift you can.
