Xpost from LIF - Broadway Shows

I'd like to take my mom in the city one night for a show in the city...I have seen a show in years. Any suggestions?

Re: Xpost from LIF - Broadway Shows

I thought Jersey Boys was amazing. Wicked was good, too...but not AS good as I thought it would be.

Does your mom have a good sense of humor? Maybe Avenue Q (altho it's off-broadway now).

My Mom LOVED it!

Re: Xpost from LIF - Broadway Shows

I saw Rain (the Beatles show) in San Diego, before they were on Broadway and thought they were really good, too. It's not really a typical broadway show, but if she enjoys Beatles music I bet she'd like it. They sound just like them! It's kind of like seeing them in concert.

We have a very different sense of humor...so I'm not sure how much she'd like that. But I would probably love it!

Re: Xpost from LIF - Broadway Shows

I was going to suggest Rain as well since my parents LOVED it. If she's a Beatles fan def try that. Also, Million Dollar Quartet was AMAZING! LOVED IT! It was short though, about 1.5 hours I think. And no break in between. If she's into that music I would DEF go there too (Elvis, Johnny Cash, Carl Perkins, and Jerry Lee Lewis)

Also, Franky took me to see Addams Family for my birthday and we really enjoyed it. It was funny and the music was good. I recommend that as well.

Re: Xpost from LIF - Broadway Shows

We loved Rock of Ages....it was totally fun and upbeat. Classic sing along one :)

Lion King was also awesome- anything Disney generally is.

Mamma Mia is really fun too- I think my Aunt has seen it 50 times.

Wicked is supposed to be amazing but I still have yet to see it.

Hahaha - yeah my mom would turn bright red and probably walk out.

I once told her my famous blonde joke...what do you call a blonde with pigtails?

This was probably the biggest moment in life where my mother was embarassed to call me her daughter.

Re: Xpost from LIF - Broadway Shows

Thank you ladies...sent my mom your suggestions. I figured I'd let her pick...she'll probably narrow it down to 2 and we'll go from there!

Re: Xpost from LIF - Broadway Shows

If she already saw Jersey Boys I would suggest Wicked, Billy Elliott, Mamma *****, or the Addams Family. If she isn't prudish and likes the 80s, take her to see Rock of Ages.
