We always celebrated Sept 3 as our anniversary, (the day we officially got back together) and yesterday we didn't even realize it was Sept 3 until we were at dinner.
Anyone still celebrating their original anniversaries or is the wedding anniversary all that matters now.
As of yesterday DH and I have officially been together (again) for 4 years!

My DH and I met on Feb 6, 2000. Each year, we remember the day. We don't do anything special.
Next year, I would like to do something special. We'll be together 10 years.
This October will be our 2nd wedding anniversary.

Re: YESTERDAY... our original anniversary
Well, we were in a little predicament 2 days ago... Sept 2nd is really our 1 yr anny of being married, but it was also 1 month since we had our real big wedding (some knew, some didnt by that point)
So we're not sure what date to celebrate anymore... Aug 2nd made it feel more real so I assume we're going to celebrate that one instead
Now, our dating anny is Feb 2nd (yes, we have a thing for the number 2), but we have too many other annys to worry about so I m sure that one will have to be forgotten about lol

Re: YESTERDAY... our original anniversary
the 2nd of every month is special to us! Nov 2nd we started dating, july 2nd we got married. so any time its the 2nd its gonna be something special, as small as a ' happy anniversary!'
we will continue to celebrate our dating anniversary, and of course our wedding anniversary!

I have a smiliar problem. DH and I really got married 4-26-08. Very few people knew about it. Our wedding celebration was 4-26-09 and that day made it real to us. However, in the future I don't want my kids to be off by a year. So which date should we celebrate? That's also why I didn't get a name plaque for the wedding because I didn't know what date to put.
And I think if we remember we will celebrate our dating anniversary but I think the wedding date might overshadow it.

Re: YESTERDAY... our original anniversary
this wednesday is our 10 year 'dating' anniversary so we want to do a little something special for it, maybe go out to dinner. DH said after being together so long he refuses to reset the clock so it looks like we will probably celebrate both anniversaries!

Re: YESTERDAY... our original anniversary
Wow....I didn't realize I had so much company on this. I felt like the only one who was confused. We got married in Vegas by Elvis on 4-12-08, but had our LI wedding reception/ rabbi ceremony was on 7-26-08.
4-12 was on Easter Sunday this year, a holiday I never quite know what to do with. (I'm jewish/hubby is not.) Plus it's 3 days before the tax deadline. Plus if it falls during Passover it's really hard to go out.
Late July seems like a much better date, but hubbs is kind of hard core about not moving it. So this year we celebrated both.
BTW my LIW countdown date is the July date.

Re: YESTERDAY... our original anniversary
Congrats to you!! Our anniversary was June 21, 2008. We've been dating since June 24, 2004. And lived together for 3 yrs. before we tied the knot. It's officially our 5th year together!! I really wanted to get married on the 24th instead of the 21st but it fell on a weekday. It made it inconvenient for our families/friends to attend. So we got married on the 21st. I always thought, you celebrate your wedding date as your anniversary but I guess I now learned you can do both!

Re: YESTERDAY... our original anniversary
Our dating anniversary is August 3, we went out to dinner this year nothing too big or exciting but we were together 7 years that day so we didn't want to just let the day go by as nothing. In the past we usually did a bigger thing like go to the city or something but now we'll save that for our wedding anniversary.

Re: YESTERDAY... our original anniversary
Well let's see...hehe...
10-4 - is our dating anniversary (will be 6 years this year) 3-7 is the anniversary date of when we moved in together (will be 6 years next year) 12-25 is the engagement anniversary 8-8 is our official wedding anniversary 8-11 is our beach wedding anniversary from our private beach wedding at Sandals.
So, my DH thinks Im nuts (maybe just a little) but I make special dinners or plans to go out on those dates (unless he has to work - then we celebrate a day or 2 before or after.
I say there's no reason not to celebrate every day that's important to you...esp after reading about that story where the groom was killed in a car accident only hours before his wedding...I say celebrate EVERY DAY you have together! JMHO!
