Yet ANOTHER name-change question

I'm in name change hell right now. I did SS card this morning. Because of my immigration status I have a few more documents to change than others might and I really want to get as much done as quickly as possible. I know I can't do bank account and CC til I get my new SS card in the mail but...its a bit unclear to me on the DMV website...can I do my driver's license without my new SS card?

Thanks!

also, other than SS card, banks/CCs, driver's license...what else do I need to change? Will work take care of changing my name on my health insurance? And once the insurance changes it will my prescriptions etc. have my new name? I never really realized til now how mannnnyyyy things have our name on them!

ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Re: Yet ANOTHER name-change question

CC's and bank I just needed to show them a copy of my marriage license, I didn't need the SS card (which I still didn't do yet LOL). The DMV I also just needed to show the original of the marriage license. Don't forget if you own a car you have to change your title on the car and the registration. Also car insurance.

As for your health insurance, I would call them and ask them about that. I had to call and send a letter in for name of insurance change and perscriptions.

Re: Yet ANOTHER name-change question

i did all my CCs over the phone - it was super easy. they didn't ask for any proof!

DMV needs marriage license. as do all frequent flyer miles.
