Yes, I still have a hard time introducing myself to people. I slip and use my old last name.

i feel like i've been in mourning over losing my name and taking DH's. i try as much as possible to NOT use or say my new last name. my old name just flowed nicely and i felt so proud of it. (not that i'm not proud with DH's) so i'm sure it will take YEARS for me to get used to it

VERY weird...I sitll can't get used to signing it although yesterday I got some practice when I had to sign all the IEPs I had to go through. It'll definitely hit me once my students get used to calling me by my new name! I love my new name!

The best was the first time I went to the doctor's office and I was waiting for awhile, then when they finally called my name I almost forgot it was me!!! I was like 'Wait, that's my new name!!'
And when we closed on our house, I had to keep reminding myself to use my new name every time it was my turn to sign!!!!

I'm still getting used to it!!! My last name wasn't that short but it wasn't long either-6 letters now it's 10 with a 'z' !! I can't make script Z's yet they still look like y's

My new last name is HORRIBLE trust me when I tell you...so I have such a hard time saying it that I just spell it all the time.
I know thats horrible but you would feel the same way if it was yours.

I always feel like I'm saying a fake name and that people won't believe me when I introduce myself. I'm not looking forward to the new school year - I feel like I'm not going to realize my kids are calling me!!
