One elbow to the ribs usually does it for me.

he usually sleeps on his side b/c if he sleeps on his back he snores and i either 1. turn him on his side or 2. squeeze his nostrils shut until he gasps for breath and turns on his side

DH's snoring was so out of hand that i demanded that he got to an ENT -- turned out he needed nasal surgery for his deviated septum. he still snores a lil bit but its not as bad as it used to be.

Re: zzzzzzz.....it's so loud
my little boy snored and it was really bad, there were times he'd actually stop breathing. we took him to the pediatrician, who then referred him to an ENT. He was then sent to an allergist to make sure he wasnt allergic to anything (pollen, weeds, dust etc) turns out he had sleep apnea. he had to have his adinoids removed and tonsils shruken. my DH has the same issue but refuses to go to the ENT (he also has asthma) if it's really bad beg him to get it check out. sleep apnea is dangerous. im still trying to trick my DH into going as well. he is such a chicken after seeing our son in so much pain.
