Wow Marcela, that sounds great, I'm going to check it out. We also go to relax, actually we went to PA last New Year's eve and went out to dinner and stayed in the rest of the night, but we were just at a regular hotel, not like what you go to .
This New Year I think we're staying close to home, maybe going out to eat. What are you guys doing for New Year's?

Re: 04 Brides
I hope everyone had a nice Christmas! Sounds like you did!! We had an excellent holiday-even though the snow ruined our plans but we are having Christmas (part 2) LOL @ my aunts since no one could make it last night!! FH got me awesome gifts-perfume set-new GUESS? watch that is like a bracelet to match all the white gold jewerly i have now(my other ESQ watch from him is gold so I haven't been wearing it!) He got me BOO the stuffed animal from the DISNEY movie 'MONSTERS INC' because I love her and he thinks she looks like me!! LOL and he got me a bunch of other stuff! He was a good Santa and my parents totally went overboard with us! We will be going to dinner and movies on them for a long time!! I'm so excited--my bro's MIL got us a SIMON giftcertificate and FH said I can go and buy something for our future apartment!! I have a couple of SIMON GC's that I haven't used so I am so happy!!
I am even more happier that 2004 is only a year away! I am 11/04 though so we have awhile! But everyone says it goes so fast! Has anyone else registered? I am so anxious too but I don't want to do it too early for fear of my taste changing in a year and a half!!

Re: 04 Brides
FI's mom lives in the Pocono's. Its so relaxing up there. Very cold and snowy, but so peaceful. I enjoy going to visit her because its so nice and quiet and when it snows everything looks so calm.
Not really much going on. 2003 is almost here.
My friend is helping me with vendors (her and another girl I know are event planners) and she sends me an email for Jan 12 to meet and puts Saturday. I wrote back saying, are you looking at 2002, because the 12 is a Sunday. She replied and wrote yea i forgot next week is 2003.
New year just around the corner...time flies

Re: 04 Brides
We registered, but we sent out engagement announcements. The only problem with it is that we will need to update our registry probably every few months. But we got some really nice stuff (ALOT of Lenox). We also got a food processor, and a silver bowl and my parents were really nice and bought us over $200 worth of cooking knick nacks off the registry, yeah! Now if I could learn how to cook....

We registered too (highlight of my month) but FH wouldn't let me register for extra stuff like frames and vases. He kept asking me 'do we really need all this?'
Of course we do!!!

Re: 04 Brides
When we do our registry, FI is in charge of the kitchen stuff (pots, pans, etc...) because he does all the cooking. And I am in charge of everything else. Thoguh I told him i want a specific blendar and coffee pot.

Chippatrid, you are very lucky that your FI does all the cooking. Maybe he could talk to my FI???!!!

Re: 04 Brides
When we start our registry my FH wants to pick out the kitchen stuff too. We both love to cook but he wants to pick out everything for that room. All the other stuff....yup my job.

Re: 04 Brides
Thats so funny - FH picked the pots and pans, coffee pot - all that stuff. He does the cooking too! I have to tell him that he's not the only guy who cooks on a regular basis!!

Re: 04 Brides
Ok, now I'm very jealous that everyone's FI cooks!!!! Mine can make eggs, and I can make only 1 thing so far (chicken parmesan). We eventually may turn into chickens if we keep this up!

Re: 04 Brides
FI makes a killer Chicken Franchese. Its better then any I've eaten in any restaurant. I make sauce and pasta, and thats about it. I've recently made hot dogs on the george forman grill. That is a huge accomplishment for me Also considering FI built a counter that is perfect for him but I need a step ladder if i want to use anything on the counter (we have the grill and the deep fryer on the counter he built)

Re: 04 Brides
Chippatrid - LOL!! Hot dogs are very much an accomplishment. Actually, I can kind of figure out the grill, but I once tried making salmon on it - bad experience with that.
Well, mine can do laundry and he'll schlep around the world for me. Just need to convice my FMIL every time she tells me I need to learn how to cook that her SON should also be part pf those lessons!!!

Re: 04 Brides
We used the grill for salmon too. Very stinky!! LOL It was delicious though. The only thing I don't like is the fact that when I tried to marinate it (didn't know at the time how to marinate so I just winged it) it soaked up all the seasonings. So it had that sea taste to it.

Re: 04 Brides
I love salmon but havent tried it on the grill yet. I have used the grill for steaks, burgers, hot dogs, and chicken. Well I should say, FI used the grill for those things I just watched...

Re: 04 Brides
I think my FMIL is going to beat me if I don't start cooking - Christmas day she looked at me and said - 'my SON is not eating anything' -- when we're over there if we don't stay for dinner, she asks me 'are you cooking for him?' I've told him not to tell her that I don't cook cause she scares me a little!

Re: 04 Brides
my mom looks at me like i am crazy because i dont cook. FMIL knows FI can cook and we told her that FI and I have a deal, he cooks and I'll do all the dishes. It's a good deal because sometimes when he cooks he starts to do the dishes so by the time dinner is over and I have to do the dishes there are not that many left for me.

Re: 04 Brides
thats the thing: there is nothing I hate more than washing dishes. I NEVER volunteer to do them ever, anywhere - I don't care! I can clean the entire house from top to bottom and leave a sink full of dishes for someone (anyone) else to do them!
