Hey ladies! I am checking up again! It has been a few days since I have been on. I hope everyone's holiday was great, despite the weather. Mine stunk. Besides my FH being away, my entire family got sick. First my mom had to go to the ER on X-mas eve. She has asthma and needed a breathing treatment. Then on X-mas day, we all got a virus and have been sick since then. Thank God we are feeling better now. Anyway, I have decided that I need to go register. Everyone keeps asking me when I will do it, and I wanted to wait for my FH to come home so we can do it together, but I think I will register for kitchen stuff now and wait for him for linens and stuff like that. Does anyone think I should wait to do everything when he gets home, or start to do some now to get everyone off my back? I feel like I should wait but then I think maybe everyone is right that I will be waiting too long and it will be too close to the wedding. Please help!

Re: 04 Brides
Hi everyone, I have not been on in a few days also. I have to tell you all how sneaky my older sister is..... she got me a whole bunch of stuff off my reg at Fortunoff, and they scanned it into my registry but did not take it off, so I did not know that something was missing!! I am afraid when it is time for the Bridal shower she is going to tell the guests to do this becuase she knows I am a registry peeker!!! UGH!

Re: 04 Brides
I went to LINENS N THINGS today to look into the registry. I posted about this- I need input-I'm not convinced its the best place to register. It seemed a little pricey and they weren't very helpful @ all. anyone have any suggestions?

Def. go to Fortunoff and register. They are very helpful there and have the best prices. My FH and I registered a few weeks ago but only for very few things. We are also going to register at Crate and Barrell for everyday things, but we going to wait until the end of next year to finish our registry.

Re: 04 Brides
We are going to register in the summer of next year (2003) at Fortunoff's. I think that is plently of time, even if friends and family want to buy us stuff off our registery next Xmas.

Like Lisa, we're going to wait till next summer to register. We're going to register at Fortunoff and maybe Macy's.

Re: 04 Brides
Lauren, I'm glad to hear your mom is ok.
We registered at Bed Bath & Beyond, Fortunoff's (I actually did it by myself on-line) and Bloomingdale's. We've gotten the most stuff so far from Fortunoff's. At Bloomingdale's everything we registered for was sort of expensive, so we probably won't get too much from there, but it was fun to register! The nice thing about all these places is that you can go on-line to register & update your registry. It is nice to go w/your FI to do it, even though for me it meant registering for a $200 coffee maker & a fondue pot (ugh).

Wow-i didn't know you could register for everything online! The only reservation I had about FORTUNOFFS is that everyone registers there and I never have been overly fond of their stuff-but then again that could just be because I have basically only seen what others have registered there for! I guess I will have to investigate! Thanks everyone for the input!!

Marcela that is a bummer The only trip we will be taking next year will be with our dog. We try to do a vacation with him once a year. And since next yr things will be tight we wanted to make sure to have him come. Oh well it seems Montauk will be the trip once again. He loves the beach

Re: 04 Brides
I will definitely be registering at Fortunoff's and Pottery Barn. We don't live together yet so we will need soooo much stuff. I think we will register in March or April because we will probably have an e-party in June and I know people will be asking if we are registered. People are already asking now!

Re: 04 Brides
We registered at Macys and Crate and Barrel. C&B I did it on-line. Haven't had problems. The only thing I don't like about Macy's is that they don't have a big selection to choose from on-line. Strange thing is that in Macy's regular site you can buy some of the items w/o a registry but through weddingchannel.com the item doesn't exist

Re: 04 Brides
Hi ladies, I dont mean to be a drag, but I found out today my grandmother (my dad's mom) doesnt have long to live. The doctors are giving her 3 - 6 months. She had lung cancer over the summer, and it was in remission but it came back and it spread. She has it from head to toe and there's nothing they can do about it. My mom thinks its not the cancer that is killing her, its a broken heart. My grandfather passed away 6 years ago and she hasnt been the same. I am really upset about this because she'll never see me get married. She never even met my FI. (She lives in Florida)
So I am just checking in, and seeing whats going on.
talk to you later
