Just checking up on my fellow 04 Brides, wanting to see if any of us have done anything new and also just to say hi.
New things: Brought my BMs each a BM hankie and a little BM book Going to order 'Ring for a Kiss' bells Found the dress that I want but I just need to go into the store and look at it
That is what has been going on with me.

Re: 04 Brides
My FH has 4, so far I only have 2.... I may be able to come up with one more but its tough! I have no close friends. How silly will it look if it ends up 4 and 3?

Re: 04 Brides
Tracy, it doesn't have to be even. I am not the type to collect girlfriends. I have a couple good friends, but only one that would have bridesmaid status. I also have TOO many female cousins, so I am using none of them (would be too much). There fore.. I get sister and friend. 2. Not so bad
The rule of thumb is SUPPOSED to be 1 attendant per 50 guests. However nobody goes by this anymore, if they ever did.

That does not look that bad at all. I am having an uneven BP.

Re: 04 Brides
I hope not because I have 1 MOH and 4 bridesmaids. He has 2 BM and 5 groomsmen but I don't want to add any more!

Re: 04 Brides
I've seen and been in uneven weddings...that happens so often nowadays nobody thinks it looks weird anymore!
If I'm lucky enough to have a church wedding I won't be having a mass along with it!
I'm so sad today!!

tracyg,
It's o.k to have a smaller number. Just don't have someone just to make it an equal number. You should only have your closest friends and/or family. Things can go wrong with too many who arn't that close. You want to be comfortable with those you do pick.

Re: 04 Brides
I thought I was the only one that didnt collect female friends! Im a very to myself person. I have 3 REAL close friends and FH's sister in my BP and my daughter as flower girl. FH has 6 close friends... he didnt want to offend someone by not asking them. 4 and 1/2 girls and 6 guys and about 100 guests. I am SOOO not the rule.

Re: 04 Brides
I have 3 best friends, including my fiance. All the rest are girls I guess are friends, but aquaintance friends. I don't tell them personal stuff. I like quality, not quantity.

Re: 04 Brides
I really don't have any friends of my own.... my hs friends were all backstabbing b**ches... and I have no friends from college cuz it was cliquey and everyone already had their set friends... So my MOH will be my FH's sister, we are close. And I'm going to ask one of his oldest (as in known since grade school) best friends (her brother is a groomsmen and a best friend of his) to be in the wedding party. I've become pretty good friends with her as well. My cousins are out of town and not the bridesmaid type (VERY introverted). So I may just end up with 2... unless one of MOH's friends who i'm also friends with wants to be in wedding. I have a step sister but shes in the Phillipines. Myabe ill beg her to come to the states!!!

Re: 04 Brides
If it is important to you where you should get married, then try to stick with it!!!!!! If he is not religious, then maybe he should think of your feelings towards the church.
My friend didn't get married in the church, she regrets it.

Re: 04 Brides
tracyg, I thought I was the only one with the girlfriend problem. my WP is my sister, two cousins and my FH's two sisters. My 'close' female friends are all doing their own thing, I hardly see them. oh well!

Re: 04 Brides
I was just reading your posts and wanted to add something. I have only a few close female friends also, but I have a lot of close male friends. So, I have a female matron and a male maid and my FH has a female best man. Are we crazy? It doesn't matter does it?

Snowboard: Your friend regrets it???? I'm stressing - why does she regret it? where did she get married??? I went on my lunch hour to FH's job - he's all miserable and depressed too... I just want toget married, ya know? thats all - I love him he loves me, I want to be his wife and the drama in getting there is just driving me nuts!!!

Re: 04 Brides
I dont think it matters. its who you want in your party.
edited to add: my cousin who is 22 years old is in a wedding and she is the 'floral attendant' she is wearing the same thing as the bridesmaids, but is walking with the ring bearer.

Hey! That's cool! I like it when you do what is right for you, not what is expected!

Re: 04 Brides
I thought I was the only one with female friend problems. I only have 3 close friends who I confide with in everything and others are just good friends. My sis and I just recently got closer.
We are having 5 males and 4 females. I don't think it matters anyway. I think whatever each of us does at our weddings will make them unique and special. People will notice that and remember it.
