First off Congrats to you all. I'm a former LiWer who has moved on to LIFamilies but my sister is now getting married and has yet to set up an account here (despite my constant urging).
Until then, I was wondering if any of you are planning a sunday wedding. My sister is concerned she won't be able to have a church ceremony until 3pm if she chooses to have it on a Sunday, which will then make the reception run late. Does anyone know if this is really the case?
Thanks ladies!!!

Re: 08 bride with a question
Some have a sunday afternoon wedding with a church ceremony. It really depends on your church. I am having a sunday twilight wedding at Giorgio's and my reception will start at 3ish with a ceremony before there. There are so many options...but I would start with the church first. Sometimes they get a little nasty when you book the reception hall before the church... to me... who cares as long as you book it right! Maybe even try a few churches outside of your parish... someone has to do it!

Re: 08 bride with a question
i'm having a sunday wedding...my church is at 2:30 (which i'm planning on pushing to 3) and my reception starts at 6:30...ends at 12:30 b/c i added the VH. my opinion is that whoever wants to/will celebrate with me will be there....everyone else is unimportant. we are sending out save the dates for that reason 9 months in advance for people to plan.
i know that my RH has an afternoon reception time that ends just before mine begins (i hope no one takes it though!).
I have friends marrying on a thursday. tell your sister to 1) plan what works best for her schedule 2) her budget and 3) join this website (or at least totally stalk it!)

Re: 08 bride with a question
We are having a Sunday wedding. Our church only has one wedding on Sunday's and it is at 3:30. Our reception is from 7:00 - 12:00. We didn't mind that it was late because the next day is Labor Day and most of our guests have off anyway.

Re: 08 bride with a question
I had a Sunday wedding. My mass started at 2:30 and finished around 3:30. Our CH started at 6pm and the reception ended at 11pm. The last mass on Sunday at our church ends at 1:30 so we had an hour to have the florist set up etc.
