So who did/will not wear their veil at the reception?
And how did you take it off without messing up your hair?? Thanks

The trick of the veil not ruining your hair when you take it out is to have the veil on a METAL comb. The plastic combs apparently make it much easier to get tangled or whatever.
I'll be wearing my fingertip veil for the reception. I would be ok with taking it off if it gets annoying (like if it's in my way or whatever).

I think I am going to leave it on, as much as it cost me, I'm gonna rock that thing as long as I can!!!

I was going to take it off, but decided to keep it on. I had a really nice hair piece in my hair that you couldn't see with the veil, but that was OK.......just easier to keep it on

Re: 08 crasher needs advice
I got one cathedral length veil for the ceremony/mass, and then I ordered a shorter veil for the reception. Depending on my mood I will see if I want to wear it or not. Originally I didn't want to wear it, but my mother kept telling me... you only get to wear it once, just buy it and if you wanna wear it wear it, at least you will have the option.
So... thats what I did.
I need to post an entire seperate RAVE post regarding my veils, but I will start it here since I haven't had the time yet to do a seperate post. I ordered them through Sew Deb, I got real sill veils, and I absolutly LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE THEM!
Good luck with your decision!

Re: 08 crasher needs advice
Thanks, the veil I ordered is soooo gorgeous that part of me wants to wear it all night. And like you said it's a one time deal!
But if I do choose to take it off, I'm worried about messing up the 'do.

I'm wearing mine... but it's a single tiered veil, so it's not that annoying. It also has no detailing on it, so it's not going to itch me or anything. You only get to wear it on your wedding day, so why not live it up!

Re: 08 crasher needs advice
My hair person wants me to velcro my veil on my tiara so it is easy to take on and off and the comb will not mess up my hair. Will only do if the velcro can be completely invisible and if this works with my tiara as well!

i plan on wearing a short, double-layer veil, low on my head so that i can leave it on the whole night and it won't get in the way.

i think i am going to take mine off after first dance... the lady that i deal with for my dress recommends taking it off after last year her daughter kept hers on and it went on fire! there were tealights near here cake and her father saw it before it went up in flames!

Re: 08 crasher needs advice
I'm not wearing mine at the reception. That puppy is coming off as soon as pictures are done. The veil is on a comb so it slides right out of my hair and won't ruin a thing.
